THROUGH SEEDS
Mature seeds should be
soaked in water for one day
and planted 1 cm deep and 2
cm apart.
(3) The seeds, watered
lightly daily, should
germinate within 7-9 days.
Upon reaching 30 cm in
height, the seedlings can be
thinned. Seedlings are readyto be planted as soon as they
grow between 60 cm and 90
cm tall.

10 cm thick.

incomes to farmers. If the seeds are sold at P20per kilo, it could have an income potential, forseeds alone, estimated to be between P218,000
and P521,000 per hectare per year.

The DA Malunggay program has the potential of
generating an estimated 10,000 jobs per every3,000 hectares of idle agricultural lands that
