From our Worthy President and Madam President
Greetings Brothers and Sisters,
Hopefully this winter rain, ice and snow will come to
an end soon and we can welcome Spring. We will
also be looking at turning our clocks forward an hour
as March represents Daylight Savings time. We will
be welcoming a new Queen of Hearts for the last
Queen finally met her end on Friday, Feb 20th, for over
$15,000. Now, we do know who won, but we didn’t
ask his permission to use his name in the newsletter.
However, we do know that he is excited and very
happy. We would like to see Friday Nights continue
like it has been. Great Company, Good Friends and a
Fantastic Time to spend at the Aerie.
February was a Great month for the Max Baer Heart Charity and many thanks go out to Renee and Otis “Cupid” Kilday and Bob Bare. Words cannot express what a GREAT time we had watching Cupid get money stuffed -- in his outfit. We shall keep it clean. We loved everything, the meat raffles, the Valentine Dance, Baskets, Jell-O shots, etc. Great job for the Heart Fund. Hopefully, we will have a total of raised funds for you in April’s newsletter.
In March we look forward to see what Co-Chairs Kimball Williams and Dano Windle can do for the Diabetes Research Center Charity Fund. There’s rumors our St. Patty’s party will be extra special this year and they have a great month planned for us with Jell-O shooters, 50/50’s, Parties, meat raffles and more including a “Remember When”….. 70’s Sock Hop on March 28. Please come out and support this worthwhile charity.
In January, the Robert D. Hansen Diabetes charity raised $1429.50! Many Thanks go out to Louse Hatfield and Larry Barber for all their hard work.
February the Auxiliary initiated 3 new sisters: Lisa Przepasniak, Nancy Mossman, and Gina Yorio, while the Aerie welcomed back (re-enrollees) Robert Brainard and Dennis Caniglia and our newest brother Miles Blanton.
When you see our new members please stop by and welcome them and make all of our new brothers and sisters feel at home.
A quick message to the Aerie members; First reading of the By-Laws and House Rule changes will be on March 4th, 2015.
Please mark May 16th on your calendars for our 111th Anniversary for the Aerie and 66th for the Auxiliary. Margaret and Doug Simms and their committee are making plans to make this the best one ever and we hope you’ll come out and help us celebrate. Also the GA State Convention will be at 714 this year June 12th -14. You do not have to be an officer to attend the convention; it is open to all members.
It’s hard to believe that our term is almost at an end; but WOW what a ride this year has been so far. April is just around the corner and we hope you are considering nominations for office. Please consider running for an office and being a part of the solution and not the problem. We want to make Atlanta, Aerie #714 the best of the best. WE NEED YOU!!!!!!!
Please remember to keep all of our brothers, sisters, families and military personnel in your prayers. Let’s be especially thoughtful of our senior members. Give them a phone call or stop by and visit them. We know they would just perk up in health just knowing we are thinking of them. May God Bless each of us!

Volunteer of the Month of March
Our Volunteer of the Month of March is Barbara Barber.
We would like to say “Thank You” to Barbara Barber our Entertainment Director, for all she does to provide our Aerie with Great entertainment. Barbara goes above and beyond to go out and listen to different bands and coordinate schedules so we always have the best musicians on Saturday nights. This is not all Barbara does for us! If you have noticed, at any given major event, Barbara is always there to give a helping hand. This includes decorating tables, waitressing tables by serving food or cleaning up. Barbara welcomes every new member, visitor or guest and walks them around introducing them to all of the membership – making them feel right at home and welcomed.
Barbara, we deeply appreciate everything you do and it comes so naturally. You do a Great Job!!!!!!!
