HANDLE CORD REPLACEMENT INSTRUCTIONS

Materials Needed

Procedure Overview • RemovetheSkiErgfromthewallorfloorstand• Removecoverplates• Removeoldcord• Installandinspectnewcord• Reinstallcoverplates• RemountSkiErgtowallorfloorstandReadthroughtheinstructionsbeforestartingtheprocedure.

1. RemoveSkiErgfromwall/floorstandusingoneofthefollowinginstructions,dependingonyourinstallation.Oncethefastenersareremoved,carefullypulltheSkiErgawayfromthewallorfloorstandandlayitdownwiththeflywheelfacingtheground.SeephotoA.

• IfyourSkiergismountedtoawall:Startingwiththebottombracket,usea1/2”wrenchtoremovethefastenerssecuringthe topandbottombracketstothewall.

• IfyourSkiergismountedonafloorstand: Usinga5/32”AllenwrenchorT276lobedriver,removethetwoscrewsattachingthebottombracketoftheSkiErgtothefloorstandbase.WithonehandsupportingtheSkiErg,carefullyremoveallthefastenersattachingthetopbarbrackettotheSkiErg.

2. Usingthe5/32”AllenwrenchorT276lobedriver,removethetopandbottomrearcovers.SeephotosBandC.

3. Pullonehandleout2–3feetandusethebulldogcliptoclampthetwomiddlerunsoftheshockcordtogetheraninchfromthetopbracket.Thiswillrelievetensionfromthecordsandmakeiteasierforyoutofinishthereplacement. SeephotoD.

4. Slidetheblackrubberbumpers(locatedaboveeachhandle)upsothattheknotsoneitherendofthecordareexposed.Removethehandlesbypullingthemthroughtheexposedloopsoneachendofthecord,takingcaretonotewhichhandlecameoffwhichsideofthemachine.Thiswillbeimportantinstep14whenyoureattachthehandles.SeephotoE.

5. Cuttheoldcordononesideandremovetherestofit,alongwiththebumpers,fromthemachine.Setthebumpersaside,asyouwillneedtoinstallthemonthereplacementcord.SeephotoF.

6. Oncethecordisremoved,inspecttheinsideofthemachine(withattentiontothetravelingpulley)foranydamageorwear.Ifyounoticeanydamage,contactConcept2forfurtherassistance. SeephotoG.

7. Tightenthedrivecordonthespoolsothatallofthewrapsarecloseandtight.Trytoremoveanytwistsfromtheunwrappeddrivecordbypullingthecordtautandlayingthetravelingpulleydownwiththetwonutsfacingout.SeephotosHandI.

8. Threadtheuntiedendofthereplacementcordthroughonebumperandslidethebumperdownthecorduntilitrestsagainsttheknot. SeephotoJ.

9. Threadtheendofthereplacementcordintoonesideofthetopbracket,makingsurethecordtravelsoverthetopofboththeouterandinnertoppulleys.SeephotoK.

10.Pullthereplacementcorddownthelengthofthemachinefromtheinnertoppulleyandthreaditthroughthesamesideofthetravelingpulley. SeephotoL.

11. Pullthereplacementcordbackupthelengthofthemachineandthreaditthroughtheremaininginnerandoutertoppulleys,makingsurethereplacementcordisnottwistedarounditselfortheshockcord.SeephotoM.

12. Slidetheremainingbumperontotheendofthecord.SeephotoN.

13. Tieanoverhandknotjustabovethesealedendofthecord.Thisisthestopknot.SeephotoO.

14. Begintotieanotheroverhandknotaboutaninchabovetheblackmarklocated8”fromtheendofthecord.Beforeyoutightentheknot,threadthestopknotintothenewoverhandknotandthentightenit.ThisformsaloopthroughwhichthehandleswillreattachtotheSkiErg. SeephotosPandQ.

15. Reattachthehandlesoneitherendofthecord,takingcaretoreattacheachhandleonthesamesideyouremoveditfrominstep4.(Thisistoensurethat,whentheSkiErgisremountedonthewallorfloorstand,thetailsofthehandlestrapsfacein(towardseachother)sothatthestrapsarecomfortabletowearandcanbeadjustedeasilyduringuse.)Toreattachahandle,dropthehandlethroughtheloop(seephotoR)sothattheendoftheloopslidesunderthestrapandpullsagainstthescrewthatattachesthestraptothehandle. 16. Slidethebumpersdownovertheknotuntiltheyareflushwiththetopofthehandle. SeephotoT.

17. Removethebulldogclipontheshockcordandallowthehandlestoretract.SeephotoU.

18. Atthesametime,slowlypullbothhandlesallthewayoutwhilewatchingthespooltomakesurethewhiteandbluecordsarewrappingsmoothlyonthespool.Youmayneedtorepeatthisstepseveraltimesoruntilthecordwrapsandunwrapswithoutanyproblems.Atthistime,checkthatallcordsandthetravelingpulleyaremovingfreely. SeephotoV.

19. Checkthecordlengths.Thedistancebetweenthebottomofthetravelingpulleyandthetopofthebearingmountbracketshouldbe4–5inches. SeephotoW.

Thedistancebetweentheshockcordconnectionandthetopbracketshouldbe3–4inches. SeephotoX.Ifthecordsarenotthecorrectlength, youmayneedtoadjustthesizeofoneofthehandleloops.
