28th Sunday in Ordinary Time
The Word of God is powerful enough
to cleanse us of sickness and sin.
The first reading and the Gospel show us mi-raculous cures from the terrible disease of lep-rosy. Through faith and trust, those who were sick listened to and followed the direction of their healers and regained their lives and standing in the community. Nothing is beyond God’s capabilities, including forgiving our most shocking sins.

150TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS
150th Anniversary Prayer Lord God, Creator of all things,
You planted a Seed of Faith 150 years ago, that grew a garden called Maternity
of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish. With grateful hearts, we turn to You and pray that You continue to bless,
nurture and cultivate that which You have begun. We ask this
through Christ our Lord. Amen.
On October 2, the Old Church re-opened after being closed for two years for repairs. The opening marked the 150th Anniversary of the founding of our Parish. This Anniversary Mass was concelebrated by Fr. Quinter, Fr. Mark and Fr. Joseph, assisted by Deacon Lindsay and Deacon Bernauer. Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament followed Mass, with Adoration throughout the day until the Rosary and Clos-ing Benediction. This indeed was the very best way to begin our 150th Anniversary Year!

An Anniversary Book is being prepared for publication. It will contain the story of our Parish: how it began and grew, and the community and people who made the Parish what it is today. Pictures will tell our story.
Parishioners, former parishioners, alumni, friends and businesses are in-vited to become a patron and include your name or those of loved ones in this hardbound, keepsake book. Forms can be found on the tables at all Church Entrances or in the Rectory. All participants will receive a copy of this one-time only special edition Commemorative History Book.
If you have pictures or stories to help tell our history, please drop them off to the Rectory. Identify any pictures and put your name and address clearly on them to be returned. Or E-mail pictures and information to [email protected]. Memorabilia is also being collected to be displayed during major events; bring all to the Rectory during Office Hours. Please make sure items are identified with your name and phone number so they may be returned.
