Dear Parents/Carers and Explorer Scouts
Bag Pack
We had an impromptu bag packing session with the Mongoose Unit last Saturday at Morrisons, we had4 Explorers, Marianne and myself and our share came to £163 for a few hours work, well done guys, we
will have more sessions booked for us and therefore more chances to earn some funds for theinternationals.
Remembrance Parade
A usual spot on the district diary is the Remembrance parade in Morley, it is one of a few events I expect ALL explorers to attend - If you assist in a group which has their own service you may attend there. We have been asked by the district commissioner (and therein representatives from the local council)that following the parade Explorer Scouts would assist in providing teas and coffees in the town hall. This
would show the explorer scout section in a great light and would show members of the public that theexplorer scouts are a team to be looked up to.Smart uniform – washed neckers, clean shirt, school trousers/uniform trousers and smart shoes are
essential.Meeting times will be passed on next week.
Bonfire Camp
Attached is the permission form for the Bonfire camp at Walesby Forest Scout Campsite,
Nottinghamshire, NG22 9NG, the cost for the camp will be £25, Explorers to arrive on site (Cars must
stay in the car park and kit walked to site) at 19:00, and meet at the statue of Robin Hood where a
Leader will direct you to the site. We have to be off site on Sunday by 12.00, so can parents arrive to
collect your son /daughter by 11.30 at the latest. We are aiming to have a rifle shooting session and an
additional shooting form is attached – no form, no shooting, site rules.
