The Metro Vancouver RegionalRecreation Greenway Networkmap illustrates existing, plannedand desired connections ofregional significance. The mapis conceptual and is not aregional land use designation.Although primarily intended forrecreational purposes, thesegreenways are multi-functional,promote connectivity at alandscape level and offerancillary ecological benefits bylinking Conservation andRecreation areas, protectingnatural assets along thecorridors, and improvingresiliency. They providelocations for recreationalactivities, and cycling andwalking routes. Because of thevariety of uses and intents,these greenways often vary inform, function, surfacing, landownership and managementarrangements. The RegionalRecreational GreenwayNetwork is a conceptualnetwork, and greenwayalignments are determinedcollaboratively withmunicipalities and otheragencies.
