All major team games like Lawn tennis, Table tennis, Badminton, Handball, Football, Basketball, Kho-Kho, Cricket and
Volley ball etc. are played in the school. Well trained coaches have been engaged by the school in order to provide specialized
training to the students. Students interested in participating in games get coaching in the morning and in the evening before
and after school hours. All the year round Inter – House matches, are conducted. Many of our players, Cricket, gymnasts,
judokas and swimmers have won recognition at the national level, too
MGN is built on the belief that the hope of civilization is to have citizens of, character. This can be achieved by developing
healthy bodies. MGN Public School has provisions for all major sports and games like Athletics, Cricket, Tennis, Chess,
Handball, Basket Ball, Table Tennis, Skating and Football. Professional coaches guide and train the young sports persons.

Sports are positive experience for children with wide spread ramification of involvement. To
upgrade the sports facilities and to encourage the students to be the healthy assets of the
nation, latest sport equipments and material have been added.
BADMINTON
Our outstanding shuttler Ria Kundra – girls ( U19), reached upto semifinals at BAI National
tournament held in Panchkula. She also represented School at Bangalore Nationals. She
clinched Gold and Bronze in two state championships at Mohali and Amritsar U-19 and women
category. She was the second runner up in Punjab school State Girls U-19 tournament at
Sangrur.
Trisha Puri , Girls U-14, bagged Gold at Punjab school State Badminton Tournament & will
represent the State at SGFI Nationals.
• Himang Nanda Boys U-14 won Silver in Doubles at Tandurst Punjab State Badminton
Tournament.
• Ruhani Sharma – Girls U-19 was second runner up at Punjab School State Tournament.
• Shivansh Puri – Boys ( U-13) & Meh-preet Kaur Girls ( U-13) were second runner up at
Open State Doubles.
TENNIS
• Ekamjot - boys (U15) represented India at Jr. Asian Tennis Meet held in Gurugram & is
seeded at 3rd place as per rating of AITA
• Har-amrit & Bir-karan in Boys U14 won bronze at AITA state tournament.
• Ekamjot and Har-amrit represented school at AITA Nationals in Hyderabad.
• Muskan, Girls (U14) came third in Punjab school state tennis tournament .
ATHLETICS
• Our Star Sprinter- Japneet – represented the School at SGFI Nationals held in Gujarat and
Andhra Pradesh. He also bagged Silver in 100metres at School State Athletics.
• Pushpinder - boys ( U17 ) & Vasu Jr. boys ( U 17 ) won Bronze in CBSE Cluster in 800
meters & 400 meters respectively .
• Harkirat was second runner up in long jump at School State competition.
TABLE TENNIS
• Meetnoor represented the state at SGFI Table Tennis Nationals at New Delhi and Gujarat.
• At School State Table Tennis Tournament Meetnoor & Nipun – Boys ( U19) won second
position in individual category .
• Dharampal – boys ( U15 ) & Sania – Girls ( U13 ) were second runners up in Open State
Championship.
• In CBSE Cluster , boys U19, bagged 3rd position.
BASKETBALL
• Jasmeet Kaur – Girls ( U19) Captained Punjab team , which won Silver at SGFI Basketball
Nationals at Panchkula.

• Reetam represented school at SGFI Nationals in Gujarat. She also won bronze medal at
CBSE North Zone Taekwondo Tournament.
• Reetam – Girls ( U 17 ) – bagged Silver, whereas Astha – Girls ( U17) & Armaan – Boys
( U 17 ) won Bronze at school State Taekwondo Championship

• Siddharth Arora – Boys (U15) won silver at Open State Chess Championship, While
• Shrenik – Boys ( U15 ) & Saksham – boys ( U11) won bronze medal.
• Siddharth – Boys ( U13) emerged as overall champion at Punjab Kesari State
Championship, whereas Shrenik Under 15 bagged Gold & Saksham – Boys ( U11) won
Silver.
KARATE
• Pahaljot , Gagan , Taranjit & Karandeep Kaur clinched Gold at Open State Karate
Championship in Amritsar. Besides them , Harkirat, Harshit & Kalyaani won Silver ,
whereas , Abhideep , Ravit , Naman, Har-dil-Jaan , Ujawaldeep & Devjeet won Bronze in
the same tournament.
