MN300 Basecamp Tutorial

To accomplish tasks outlined in this tutorial you will need:
• Computer with access to the internet
• GPS capable of storing track data (Some street models only
store routes. Garmin Nuvi, etc.)
• USB/GPS cable
Steps covered here are:
• Download Garmin Basecamp to computer
• Create folder & lists to contain MN300 data in Basecamp
• Create folder in computer file explorer to receive MN300 data
from Norsemen website
• Download MN 300 data to computer file explorer
• Import MN300 data into Basecamp
• Transfer MN300 data from Basecamp to GPS device
• Show/Hide tracks on GPS device

#4 – East map (.img)
• Down Load Maps & Route Sheet
• Right click on .gpx track files
• Save link to folder in file explorer
you created on your computer
Only download the files that you need

• Open Basecamp.
• Use “File/Import” (Upper Left Corner)
to get information from your
computers File Explorer into
Basecamp

Before transferring this years MN300 data to your GPS be sure to
remove any previous years MN300 information you may have on it
to avoid confusion when looking at waypoints.

Connect GPS to Computer

• Open Basecamp
• GPS will show up under Devices
• Select MN 300 track data you imported
• Drag selected MN300 track to Device
“Internal Storage”
• Repeat for other track data and waypoints

Depending on the GPS you have, you may have to tell it which
tracks to display. On a Garmin GPSmap 60+ for example:
• Disconnect GPS from computer and turn on
• Go to and select “Track Manager”
• A list of tracks in the device will appear
• Select the track you wish to display
• Select “Show on Map”. You may also change other track info,
such as color, as desired
• Repeat for tracks you want to show
• Select “ Hide on Map” to hide tracks that you do not want
displayed
• It isn’t practical to cover all GPS models here. Many
have these features, but menus may vary.
• There are many tutorials on both Basecamp and GPS
models on Youtube.
