We give back to you Father, those whom you first gave to us.

You did not lose them in giving them to usand so we do not lose them in their return to you.

Your Son has taught us that life is eternal and love cannot die, death is only a horizon the limits of our sight.

Open our eyes and lift us up,so that we may see more clearly.

Draw us closer to you so that we may knowthat we are nearer to our loved one who are with you.

And while you prepare a place for us as you have promised, prepare us also for that happy place that where you are,

we may be also with those we have loved, for ever.  Amen.

William Penn

always follow Your plans, and perfectly accomplish Your Holy Will.

Grant that in all things, great and small, today and all the days of my life,

I may do whatever You require of me.Help me respond to the slightest prompting of Your

Grace,so that I may be Your trustworthy instrument for Your

honour. May Your Will be done in time and in eternity -- by me, in

Thursday 24th OctoberSaint Anthony Mary Claret, Bishop

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord. Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky. In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand. Sometimes there were two sets of

footprints, other times there were one set of footprints.

This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life, when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat, I could

see only one set of footprints.

So I said to the Lord, "You promised me Lord, that if I followed you, you would walk with me always. But I have noticed that during the

most trying periods of my life there have only been one set of footprints in the sand. Why, when I needed you most, you have not

been there for me?"

The Lord replied, "The times when you have seen only one set of footprints in the sand, is when I carried you."

Friday 25th OctoberSaint Chad and Cedd

Loving Father,as we come to the end of another term

we turn to you in confidence and place any difficult relationships into the healing hands of Jesus, your Son.

Enable us to leave behind any regrets or bitterness, and entrust the past to your mercy,

the present to your love, and the future to your providence.

Help us appreciate more the need to keep a good balance in our lives.

May the holiday be for us a time of rest and recreation to help restore us and re-create us in your image and

likeness, as we enjoy more of the love and presence of our families, on whom we ask your blessing.

Amen.

REMEMBER: Friday 1st November

• Make every effort to attend Mass on this day and bear witness to your faith.

Page 17: Monday 14 th October Saint Callistus I, Pope and Martyr

ALL SAINTSOn the Feast of All Saints we think about the people who are in Heaven - people we know, who have died: grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, friends - and lots of people we don't know too. They are all saints. This word means "belonging to God". A long time ago, if you were a Christian, trying to be like Jesus Christ, you were called a saint.

The saints were all great people. They were great for God. We can be like them. We belong to God and want to be like Jesus - just like the saints. So the feast of All Saints, is about us, as well as the people in Heaven.
