VINIFICATION AND VINTAGEAged in french oak including 25% in new oak, for about15 months.

THE VINEYARDMonthélie is an appellation of 140ha (41ha are 1er cru). 90% of Monthélie production is red, including 30 % of 1er cru. Le clou des Chênes has been promoted as 1er Cru in 2006. It is a plot of 1.61ha, in continuation of Volnay 1er Cru Ez-Blanches.

TASTING NOTESTile red.

Delicate tints of peony, violet, cinnamon, leather.

Nice balance between acidity and tannins, long lingering.

SERVING SUGGESTIONS

Up to 4 years.

Grilled red meat, soft cheeses.
