Hydratight’s MORGRIP® Compact Connectors are a lightweight, low cost alternative to welding. The Compact Connectors use Hydratight’s unique sealing system with a new gripping section.
MORGRIP Mechanical Connectors have been core products supplied by Hydratight since the late 1980s. Hydratight has continued to improve these innovative engineering solutions for use within the oil and gas industry.
Features and Benefits• All sizes are stocked for immediate delivery; enabling
a rapid return to production • Quick and simple installation with bespoke streamlined
tooling; ideal for confined space envelopes• Metal graphite composite sealing which enables the
seal to flow around the pipe OD, ensuring a chemically resistant, high temperature, high pressure seal that will not degrade in extreme environments
• A unique gripping mechanism using specially engineered grip rings that don’t deform or swage the pipe
• The lightweight optimized design offers up to 80% weight savings compared to other mechanical connectors
• An external pressure test facility determines the joint integrity prior to commissioning
• Fire safe in accordance with API Spec 6FB. Achieved through a combination of Hydratight’s unique metal graphite composite seal and mechanical gripping
• Full DNV GL ABS accredited approvals exist on Hydratight MORGRIP Connectors for either permanent or temporary repair
Technical Details• Suitable for all carbon steel pipelines between
1" & 4" diameter• All sizes activated using a standard RSL 6 Torque
Wrench with a modified cartridge; available for rent from Hydratight
• BS EN 10204 3.1 Material Certification as standard• DNV GL Type Approval
