Mother’s Day Apron!
Hi Everyone,
Today I wanted to share this super quick and easy tutorial to create the cutest little apron for
Mother’s Day. It sews together FAST and looks completely adorable!
Hope you enjoy :)
Supplies:
½ Yard of Woven Fabric for the main part of the apron
½ Yard of Woven Fabric for the waistband
¼ Yard of fusible Interfacing
Matching Thread
Waistband and Ties:
For the waistband and ties cut out two rectangles that measure 26”x4”
● (For wider waists you might want to extend this measurement)
Cut a piece 21” x 4” (Apply fusible interfacing to this piece)
Main Apron Piece:
Cut out a rectangle 44”x 18”
Take your main apron piece and hem the two sides and the bottom edges. Do this by folding the
edges over ½” twice. Stitch!
Gather the top edge of your apron piece by running two lines of basting stitches and pulling the
bottom threads. Gather the fabric until it measures around 20”
(You can extend this measurement for a larger size)
Waistband and Ties:
Sew the two ties to either end of the interfaced rectangle. Fold the entire thing in half and press
both raw edges to the inside by ½”
Center your waistband on your main apron piece and pin in place, sandwiching the apron within
the waistband. Make sure when you do this, the portion with the interfacing is aligned with the
apron piece!
Stitch all the way down the waistband and ties sewing ⅛” away from the edge.
Finish off the ends of the ties by folding the raw edges inside by ½” and sew. Give everything a
really good press with your iron and it’s complete!
