Music Magazine Research My aim is to research different types of genre’s e.g. pop or

rock. So that it will allow me to realise what kind of genre I will choose for my music magazine.

You Me At Six Analysis:You Me At Six are a rock band and this CD cover of their album ‘Sinners Never Sleep’ is a typical album of the genre rock because of the colours black, white and grey in it. The colours associate with rock stars and it is very stereotypical. The word ‘sinners’ is associated with the guy or girl who looks as if they are in prison, this shows this person is a rebel and this is giving the audience a insight of what’s in the album. Automatically we know the songs are going to be linked to the darkness of this cover. The person is wearing nail varnish so this could connote that it could be a girl, or a boy who is a rock star. This album cover subverts the other albums they produce, this one actually shows they’re genre is rock whereas the other album’s look as if they are an indie band.
