Research Group
Multiferroics Materials.
Thermoelectric materials.
Metallic Thin film, Hard coating, etc.
Electron microscopy:
Resolved the existing controversies of space-group in SrCaTiO3
ceramics, at different Ca
concentration level. Initially various space groups e.g. Pnma
(Pbnm), I4/mcm, Imma, P21/m,
Cmcm were reported. On the basis of XRD, Electron microscopic and
TEM simulation data above
listed space groups has been tested thoroughly and finally Pnma
space group has been assigned
along with a new feasible space group P21212 as a minor phase.
Phase coexistence studies are
under progress.
Relaxor Ferroelectrics:
A new lead free ferroelectric relaxor ceramics has been found in Hf
doped BaTIO3 (i.e. BaTi1-
xHfxO3) ceramics. Crossover from normal to relaxor behaviour has
been characterized and
shown as an efficient candidate for industrial usage. Established
novel technique to characterize
relaxors.
Multiferroics: Synthesis of pure and doped BiFeO3, composite
materials e.g. BiFeO3: LaFeO3,
BiFeO3:NiFe2O4 etc. for fundamental science and functional device
applications.
Proton conductor: Development of BaCeO3 and BaZrO3 based Proton
conductors material for
intermediate temperature operation.
Area of Interest: Current research activities are focused on
thermoelectric materials,
Proton conducting fuel cell (PCFC), Metallic Thin film & Hard
coating, etc.
