Assignment 1

• The goal in this assignment was to take multiple images and create a black and white flyer.

• Scanning of an image was also a requirement

Assignment 1• One of the hardest parts

of this assignment was balancing the contrast with the images.

• My first attempt had the background images at 100%, a second attempt lowered that amount to put more emphasis on the sticks.

Assignment 1• The referee image was my

scanned image.

• This was scanned out of the NCAA rulebook.

• Unfortunately, the pages were not very clean and when scanned, it produced a dirty image that required a decent amount of retouching.

• Overall I am pleased with the how it turned out.

Assignment 2

• The goal in this assignment was to create a double sided tri-fold brochure.

• The use of a template was encouraged to ensure proper placement when folded.

Assignment 2• At first I thought I would not

like the blue but it grew on me over time.

• You often have to keep the style in line with the rest of their marketing.

• I am working to make adjustments to the girl’s eyes to make the blue “pop” more.

Assignment 2.5

• The goal in this assignment was to create an image that could be used as a seamless texture.

• The second half of the assignment was to create a 3D image.

Assignment 2.5• The key to this assignment

was to find an image that did not have a wide range of contrast to it.

• While grass and sand seem like they would make a great image, they often have a number of flaws that are exposed when viewed as a larger picture.

Assignment 2.5• The top image is what one of

my textures looks like when viewed in a browser.

• The bottom image is what the browser looks like if it is zoomed out.

• The contrast differences can fool the eye into seeing seams (red arrows) where there are none.

Assignment 3

• The goal in this assignment was to use Photoshop to create a web page layout.

Page 15: My Adventures with LTEC 3220

Assignment 3• From experience, I have

found that the initial design and slicing is the most critical piece of the web design.

• You need to plan ahead and know where text is going to be placed so you can slice it correctly.

Page 16: My Adventures with LTEC 3220

Assignment 3• One thing you need to remember

is that fonts displayed in the browser as text will often appear differently than if it was a graphic.

• For my color scheme, I wanted to use the same colors throughout the page, without overdoing it.

• Since we are referring to arcade games, I wanted the page to have a sort of “retro” feel to it.
