Questions for personal reflection based on this Sunday’s Readings…
Jesus said to them,
"Did you never read in the Scriptures: The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; by the Lord has this been done, and it is wonderful in our eyes? Therefore, I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people that will produce its fruit."
What one specific thing can I do with my time and talents to produce fruit in the vineyard I call home?
Do I take stock of what I say or do, as to whether or not the “seeds I plant” will bear good fruit, useful fruit? In
conversation? On social media? In my own thoughts? In the political, social, or work environment?

THANK YOU to all who are continuing their care for our parish during this challenging time. Please continue to care for those less fortunate by donating to area food pantries and soup Kitchens as you are able.
• The Obligation to attend Sunday Mass will remains suspended at this time. Livestream Mass will still be provided online during this time. Although not a substitute for participation in person, it has been of some comfort to those at home during this dilemma.
• We at Nativity follow a system for scheduling who is going to be in the church for each Mass from among those that wish to venture out at this time…and unfortunately, no extras can be allowed. This is very difficult for our clergy and staff and volunteers to do to begin with, in that the thought of refusing entrance to church or refusing admittance to the sacraments is hard for both the “bouncer” and the “bounced.” Please review the materials sent home, respond to them quickly, and please don’t just show up expecting to get in. Please call the rectory to be added to the list. If you have sent in a request, and have not heard from the rectory, please call – there may be a problem with an email address or phone number.
• All those attending Mass will be expected to take his or her temperature at home before coming, and if your temperature is elevated – please stay home. -– masks must be worn while in the building – there will be one entrance in and one exit out –– offerings will be made upon entering, not during the Mass - seats will be assigned – missalettes will not be used– music will be a little different, and parishioners are asked not to sing aloud at this time - Communion will be distributed following the Mass; we ask that all receive in the hand wherever possible – upon leaving, please exit the driveway return to your vehicle directly, to avoid crowding.

THE SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION will take place at two celebrations: one on Tuesday, October 20, at 7:00pm, and the other on Saturday, October 24th at 1:00pm, here in our Church. A photo will be taken of the entire Class on Sunday, October 18 at 4:00pm, with a brief rehearsal and the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Letters were mailed/emailed on Friday of this week with further details.
FEAST OF OUR LADY OF THE ROSARY The Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary falls on Wednesday, October 7. Since it is the patronal feast of our church building, in observance of the Feast, in addition to our usual 7:00am Mass, we will gather at 6:30 pm that evening for Evening Prayer, Rosary, and a Candlelight Procession to the outdoor Shrine of Our Lady, (weather permitting) No reservations will be needed for the morning or evening liturgies. Please consider joining us to honor Our Lady during this most unusual year and pray for a world so in need of God’s help.
The GIFT CERTIFICATES that support Holy Rosary School and other Diocesan schools may be purchased on Thursday from 8:00-10:00 am in the Church Hall.
ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE Please call the rectory to let us know if you, or if someone you know, may be in a financial bind during this difficult time.
S.H. of J. HALL INFORMATION As many of you may already be aware, we are nearing the end of the “big move,” and will keep the hall open until the several community groups are re-settled in other places, and until the November elections are over. All inquiries concerning purchasing Sacred Heart land, etc. may be directed to Fr. Polednak or Mr. Tighe at Nativity of Our Lord Rectory.
