EXPORTING
FILE TYPES
• NWD – Complete data. Can be shared and viewed with Navisworks Freedom or other Navisworks programs.
• NWF – Master file set with links to reference other. Cannot be opened with Navisworks Freedom
• NWC – Created when exported from Revit or brought in from AutoCAD
EXPORTING
• From Revit– Install Navisworks Exporter Tool– Set up Navisworks 3D Export View– Shared and Internal Coordinates
• From CAD- Set up view- Save as DWG file

FILE ORGANIZATION
1. Create a separate clash detection folder2. Do not have any dates or version numbers!
BEFORE THE MEETING
1. Open and Append Files - Saving as NWF
3. Workspace Customization- View < Load Workspace
4. Creating Clash Detection Rules5. Review Clashes/Grouping Clashes
SETTING UP CLASH TEST
1. Open clash detective2. Add a test (ie. Arch vs Mech, Mech vs Plumb,
Mech vs Mech)3. Set up ignore rules 4. Select files or objects to clash against5. Select types of clash and tolerance6. Start the clash7. See results!
REVIEW CLASH RESULTS
Choose among active, approved, reviewed, and resolved.Resolved is automatic!Comments/Tags
CLASH DETECTION GROUPS
1. Right click on object in the selection tree at bottom of results tab
2. Select Group Clashes Involving Items3. Right click folder to comment 4. Select Status for the Clash Result!

1. Check options editor for viewport settings to save override materials and transparencies
2. Save reports as html and print to PDF

- Save as a NWD file for consultant and contractor review.
- Free viewer- Redlines and comments visible- Navigation tools available- Unable to make any changes or add
comments
FOLLOWING MEETINGS
PROCEDURE
1. Get updated files from everyone!2. Make sure file name is the same3. Update tests4. Review both old and new clashes5. Repeat meeting and follow up procedure

SELECTION AND SEARCH SETS
Selection sets are static searches of specific objects
Search sets are dynamic defined searches that update as the model changes

1. Select objects from the selection tree2. Go to “Sets”3. Right Click 4. Add current selection
