Face to face networking is available only during the event itself. However, most people ignore the fact that the digital platform enables us to network with

participants of a professional conference even before and after the event is over

Do your homework before coming to the conference: Who is coming? Who will be lecturing? What are the event communication channels? What value can I add or contribute to this event?

Map all the relevant social accounts related to the

conference

Share with your friends and followers that you’ll be participating the event.

Ask people to tell you if they are going too

Try to figure out who are the people behind the event. Try to connect them. Offer your

help

(especially in big conference). Look out for them and reach them

I looked for the 6 people in the previous slide (They spoke in a conference I lectured as well). I found their Twitter accounts and mentioned them together, doing so during my own lecture

Search for the real time digital conversation going on regarding the

event (Twitter’s # might be a good start). Join that conversation

Share, share, share: Insights, images, feelings - from the event

Tag, tag, tag: People you meet. Lecturers you hear. Location that relevant to where

you are

viral / provocative headlines. Share!
