HAPPY BIRTHDAY
Best wishes for last week
and this week to Logan,
Charlie N and Xavier from
all your friends at school.
Lucas Proudfoot: What an awesome performance we saw last week! Lucas
shared some of his life experiences through music and
stories. After the performance some of the students had
fun in a creative writing workshop.
The writing workshop was very interesting and fun. Every-
one chose three connected words and a random one. We
had to use the words to write a story. By Sarina

Eli: I like Billy because he plays the drum and he is a blue tongue lizard. He is great! Tom: At the show Lucas Proudfoot told us to clap our hands. I liked the stomp box but someone said it was a lunchbox. Thalia: This morning Lucas Proudfoot came. He played digeridoo and the guitar.
I had fun.
Investigating the Past Our 1/2 students have been creating questions to ask our older community members about the past. Last week we
were fortunate to have Mr Cameron join us and answer our questions. This week, Faith Newham shared her stories
from the past. Our students enjoyed the chance to ask open-ended questions and compare life from the past to the
present. Some of our questions included: “Did you have machines in the past?”, “What type of cars did you have in
the past?”, “What did you use to draw with when you were young?” and “What has changed since the past?”

P&C Update
Dunoon P&C will be the Charity of the Day at July’s Channon market (14th). This is one of our
major fundraising opportunities for the year. It is during the school holidays, but we are very
hopeful of having lots of volunteers to take gate donations and help on the BBQ/stall. Please
let Michelle know if you are able to help on the day with either of those jobs. A hard copy of
the roster will be sent home today.
At last week’s meeting, the P&C agreed to engage the services of Patrick Renno, from Land-
scape Design in Rosebank, to develop a plan for our outdoor learning areas. Patrick was very
knowledgeable about the educational benefits of outdoor learning and we look forward to
working with him on the design. Our next step would be to have another onsite consultation
to clarify our intentions for the landscaping. The final design will be something the school and
the P&C can roll out over a number of years, so we are keen for it to be a thorough and con-
sultative process. If you would like to be involved, please keep an eye out for the next consul-
tation time with Patrick and come along!
C o m m u n i t y N e w s Hi to all parents, grandparents and carers Our Dunoon OSHC service runs from 3 to 6pm every weekday and we strive to be a sustainable service. To reuse, recycle and reduce where we can. Over the coming weeks we will be undertaking an activity where we will be making our own Beeswax wraps. Reducing plastic is a huge step to-ward saving our environment and our ocean life as a lot of plastic ends up in our rivers and oceans. Small steps can make a big difference. If you have any 100% cotton material at home you no longer need please donate it to our service for this wonderful activity . Any material we don’t use for this activity can be used for stitch-ing practice or making small items next term. Please drop to school office during school hours. Thank you to Faith Smith who has collected some material for this activity, it’s very much appreciated. Also if anyone has any small cardboard boxes they’d like to donate to OSHC that would be wonderful. Thank you to all. Louise (Lou), Dunoon OSHC Co-ordinator.
The P&C will be Charity of the Day at the Channon market on Sunday the 14th July. We need help to man the BBQ, serve
food, bake delicious cakes for us to sell and rattle the buckets at the gate to collect donations. This is one of the P&C’s main
fundraisers for the year and all money raised will go back to supporting some of the fantastic projects the P&C is supporting
at the school!
If you could please give us an hour or two of your time on the day, complete the attached roster with your preferred availa-
bility or send an email to Michelle at [email protected]. If you are able to bake something, please send through
an email to let us know. Thank you for your fantastic help in supporting this event!!
