Introduction
This document provides a typical network deployment of Communication Server 1000 (CS1000) utilizing the XO Communication SIP Trunking product offering. This document should serve as general guideline only, since it is not possible to document every possible variation of configuration. Further information may be obtained from your Nortel support representative.
The CS1000E system is configured as a SIP gateway endpoint on the XO Communication network. The enterprise customer will require an additional signaling server for each SIP gateway that will be deployed as SIP trunking to the carrier. In the diagram shown below, the signaling server is shown as the onboard CP-PM option, but it can also be the outboard, rack-mounted 1U server.
The CS1000 in this configuration, does not use SIP Redirect or Proxy for Carrier SIP trunking, the SIP Virtual Gateway is simply provisioned with the SBC as the static SIP endpoint of the SIP Trunk.
The software and patch lineup for the configuration is as follows:
Call Server: 5.50J plus latest DEPLIST
Signaling Server: SSE 5.50.12 plus latest DEPLIST as well as the following additional patches:
MPLR25946 - SIP GW patch to remove outbound MCDN from SIP messaging MPLR23632 - Allows null values for the E.164 fields under SIP URI map section MPLR25529 - PI: SIP: Partial support of DIVERSION MPLR27408 - PI: SIP: Disable SIP Session Timer on CS1K MPLR28613 - Ringback tone and speech path support in slow start CFNA scenarios Notes: Additional to the CS1K configuration, there is a scenario where the MCS5100 client/user dialing the PSTN user tandem through CS1K or vise versa, the Music On Hold feature will not work due to Broadsoft/Sonus issue. i.e MCS client A calls PSTN user B, after A put B on hold, B will not be able to hearing music while the call is on hold. In order to get around this, the MCS client is needed to configure in the “Converge Desktop” mode. Here are the steps on how to set it in Converge desktop mode:
1. From Multimedia PC client user window, click on “Preferences” 2. On User Preferences, in the User Category, in User Mode, please check the
“Converged Desktop Mode” attribute. This will put the user in converge desktop mode. To exit this mode, uncheck this attribute, this will put user back to normal operation.
