Information

The Rewards System gives you the opportunity to pick

your rewards and cash in your merits. You may like to

go for the smaller rewards or perhaps save up your

merits for one of the larger rewards – it’s entirely up

to you, however you will need to manage this carefully!

**** Your teachers will award you merits for a number of reasons including effort in class, homework, club

participation, smart uniform, representing the school, being kind and polite etc. These are the main behaviours

you thought deserved rewarding. You will also gain 5 bonus merits each half term for

100% attendance, 3 bonus merits for more than 95% attendance and 5 bonus merits each half term for no negatives! A further 10 bonus merits will be

awarded to those who gain 100% attendance across the whole year! A great way to top up your total!

A 10 merit bonus is also available to those who gain all ‘Good’ or ‘Excellent’ for Attitude to Learning and

Homework on Screening or Profiles! ****

Keep a look out on the notice board in the Maths

corridor for up-coming rewards and also to see which

House Team is winning in the merit competition!

You will also be able to see your up to date balance

and when the next cashing – in date is!

Certificates, Badges and Trophies

Merit certificates will be awarded for 20 merits, 50 merits, 100 merits, 150 merits, 200 merits and

250 merits. You will also gain a merit badge - bar (100 merits), a small trophy (150 merits), a merit badge – star

(200 merits) and small engraved plaque (250 merits)!

At points throughout the year there will be merit sales –

keep an eye out for posters promoting these.

How do I cash in my merits?

Once a week from 12.30pm – 1pm you will be able to cash

in your merits for the rewards displayed in this

catalogue. This will take place in the main hall.

Some rewards you will be able to receive there and then

eg stationery, vouchers, items with the school logo on,

whilst others you will receive a signed credit voucher,

for example for Cafe North or disco/prom ticket – these

are then used at a later date.

Before you cash in your merits, please ensure you have

enough by asking your form tutor (they are given weekly

updates). Alternatively check the totals sheet on

cashing-in day in the main hall or notice board in the

Maths corridor. Also, make sure you know what reward

you would like to cash your merits in for.

Fill in a rewards slip in the main hall and hand it over to

Miss Theobald to receive your reward.

Please note that the Rewards Catalogue will be

continually reviewed and as a result some merit values

may change, extra items added in or items removed.
