November 4, 2018– 31st Sunday in Ordinary Time
If there’s anything that we can consider as the best moments of life, they are the moments when we love and care, when we have gone beyond ourselves and reached out to other people in love. Indeed, it’s LOVE that makes the whole world go round, as the song or saying goes. This is what Jesus would like us all to know always, that’s why He gave us this command: “Love God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your strength, and love your neighbor as yourself.” Let us keep on loving as Jesus did. Amen.
From Fr. Steve

“How to Help Catholics Come Back Home”
Join us for dinner and discus-sion. There are many reasons why people stop practicing their faith. Whether they have been away a little while or quite some time, God is tugging at their hearts calling them back home. What is our role in encouraging, guiding and praying for them to accept God’s invitation to rediscover the truth, wonder and mystery of the Catholic Church, and to live fully in a relationship with Christ? Respect Life Respect Life was highlighted by The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) as it covers many concerns such as abortion, end of life, suicide, infertility, adoption, criminal justice, capital punishment, biotechnology, sickness, and terminal illness. Please learn more about Respect Life throughout the year at www.usccb.org/respectlife as every life is cherished, chosen, and sent! God loves all of us unconditionally and we can honor Respect Life by answering His call to build a culture of life! Bishop Prays with 40 Days for Life Participants: (Respect Life article excerpt from Diocese of Richmond’s website https://richmonddiocese.org/bishop-prays-with-40-days-for-life-participants/)
More than 40 people gathered to pray the rosary with Bishop Barry C. Knestout in front of a Richmond Planned Parenthood clinic on Oct. 23, 2018. The vigil was part of 40 Days for Life, a national effort in which participants pray for an end to abortion. According to organizers, this was the first time a bishop of the Diocese of Rich-mond had joined the group in prayer. Calling abortion a “scourge” on America, Bishop Knestout encouraged the group to continue praying for an end to abortion and to promote the sanctity of life in how they live their daily lives. He thanked them for the commitment they have made on behalf of the unborn. There are six 40 Days for Life campaigns in the Diocese of Richmond. In addition to Richmond, campaigns are being held in Charlottesville, Roanoke, Virginia Beach, Newport News and Bristol.
Peace & Justice- Continue to pray the Rosary for Peace for all! During the month of November the Social Ministry Catholic Teaching Principle of “Ethical Trade” will be highlighted. Ethical Trade focused on the dignity of work and the rights of workers.
“Listen! The wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which
you kept back by fraud, cry out, and the cries of the harvesters
have reached the ears of the Lord of hosts.” (James 5:4)
