Koryo
Koryo, o ! cially the rst black belt form, is now
required of students when they test for black belt.
Koryo, the name of the dynasty (AD 918-1392) born
of the successful wars in which the Hwa Rang of Silla
ultimately unied the three kingdoms into one
nation, is also the derivation of the English word
Korea. Poomse Koryo is a celebration of the courage
and fortitude of the early Korean people, whodefeated the rampaging Mongolian army which
otherwise swept across most of Asia. The line of
direction of Poomse Koryo draws the Korean
character for Sa, meaning scholar and gentleman.

Black Belt Testing Oct 3/4
Congratulations to Kylie Morgan, Sanjana
Yerramaneni, Cameron Kelly, and Dylan Luera!
We are so proud of everything you have
accomplished. You may think the hard part was
your actual test, but do not forget the dedication,
sweat, and perseverance that got you there. It took
years of hard work to earn your own spot in testing!
Ive seen a black belt in every one of you since we
rst met, but you are the only people who can make
that happen. You took the test, and you all did a
fantastic job. When your belt arrives and your test is
complete, your friends, family, and instructors who
have helped motivate and guide you on your
journey, will all share in your excitement!
Stripe
tests
Did you know? Each month
we focus on a new stripe,
and during the last week of
each month we hold stripe
testing!
Oct - KicksNov - Forms
Dec - One Steps/Blocks
If you miss a stripe test, see
an instructor for a make up.
