Greetings fromNizhny Novgorod
After a dark and unseasonablyrainy August the weather
slipped from summer into fallwith hardly any awareness. Ithas been depressingly cloudy, overcast and rainy most of the
month of September, andcolder weather is on the way.We actually had our first briefsnowfall late in the month. Bythe end of October things will
be nearly frozen over andsnow will begin to cover the
ground.
The earth may be frozen, buthearts are warmed.
The rhythms of life go on inour day to day ministry. Life
seems routine, but every weekwe see people coming to
Christ and lives beingchanged in dramatic ways bythe power of the Holy Spirit,
mercy and grace.

Bibles, Bibles, Bibles!
We express heartfelt thanks tothose who responded to ourFacebook appeal forcontributions in order topurchase Bibles. We receivedover $900 and were able topurchase more than 300 Bibles. This month we distributed thoseBibles to four churches, fourrehab centers and one Bibleschool!
Rehab MinistryWe continued our regularschedule of teaching in the localrehabilitation centers this month. It is a joy to be able to speak intothe lives of so many youngbelievers and recovering drugaddicts. We are always aware ofthe great changes that areneeded in their lives and thetremendous struggle they face to
follow Christ and live a differentlife in a culture that is somewhathostile to Protestant Christianfaith. To become part of aProtestant church in Russiameans that you are labeled amember of a sect or cult.Protestant churches are lookedupon as something from theWest which will corrupt theRussian culture.
A Team from America
In September we hosted a teamfrom First Baptist Houston. Sally
Hinzie was the team leader. Theteam visited local area
rehabilitation centers andchurches. In addition to this wearranged for them to teach intwo local Bible schools. One ofthe Bible Schools is sponsoredby the local Assembly of Godchurch which is pastored by ourgood friend Ivan Beshlyag. Theyalso taught on Thursday eveningand Friday evening at theCornerstone Church leadersmeeting and Bible School. Sallyworks with the Union BaptistAssociation in Houston, Texas. She has led teams to NizhnyNovgorod for many years andshe has raised up a large teamof intercessors in America whopray on a regular basis for thecity. These prayers have yieldeda harvest of new church plantsover the last 8 years.
We count it such joy to be ableto work with many groups, andmovements, and across culturaland denominational lines. It isso exciting to witness peopleworking together, prayingtogether and for each other, andlending a hand to each other tofulfill the gospel commission ofmaking disciples. It is such aprivilege to be a part of this and
to have a small influence in thelives of these kingdom buildingleaders.
