**project activities: ‘the Dos and Don’ts’ – The team division remains the same as in the activity above:
Poland –Lithuania-Latvia, Portugal-Spain-Romania. Pupils cooperated on-line and they listed mistakes
people make when they try to eat/live healthier. Here, they prepared posters to raise awareness of
healthy (Dos) and unhealthy (Don’ts) habits.

**Local visits: cultural heritage of the hosting country
Visiting the most important places in Riga Old Town – Latvia’s contribution to common European
heritage (15 years in European Union; 100 years of independence)

Tuesday, May 7th
**Visit to Faculty of Food Technology in Jelgava – attending classes/training sessions: food processing,
new trends in healthy diet, packaging, using artificial and natural preservatives
*Activity’s added value: integration of culturally diverse pupils / expanding students’ knowledge about
healthy diet
**Healthy living campaign 1 - students were divided into international 4-pupil groups. Each team
consisted of pupils from different countries. The students wrote a screen, record videos/vlogs
promoting healthy lifestyle. The advertisements will be displayed on the final meeting day.

**Teaching session for teachers:
Classroom management in multinational setting. Many schools have ethnic and religious minorities.
Teachers shared their experience in teaching such students. Teachers discussed ways how to integrate
foreigners into school and local communities

**Learning session for students:
Caramel workshop in Jelgava – how to prepare a traditional local sweets

Wednesday, May 8th
**Healthy living campaign 2 – students divided into international groups continued their work on
materials promoting healthy lifestyle.
Activities' added values: creating healthy Europeans who are aware of the importance of proper dietary
habits and active lifestyle/ integrating members of culturally diverse countries

Students and teachers had the chance to practice some most popular sports in the open air.

Thursday, May 9th

Visiting the Mentzendorff House – the comparison of the local lifestyle and diet 100 years ago to
today’s ones
Visiting Black Heads House – the impact of the Baltic Sea merchants and Hansa on the city
The activity’s added value: creating tolerant, fair and respectful European citizens/cultivating long-
lasting European traditions.
**Healthy living
Visit Riga Central Market – the participants could check what kinds of fruit and vegetables are available
in the region and learn about local food preferences.

**Teaching session for teachers:
Obstacles to successful follow-up sports activities. The teachers tried to draw up description of
activities and events that might be organized after the project completion. The teachers also
mentioned possible difficulties and ways we could avoid them.

Friday, May 10th
**Local visits: cultural heritage of the hosting country
Visiting Riga Motor Museum – all participants had the possibility of learning about local achievements
in cycling and motor sports; they also learnt about Soviet times in Latvia (e.g. means of transportation
for 1980 Olympic Games)

lasting European traditions.

Establishing first strategies towards the final report; discussing the possibilities of future school
cooperation; a knowledge test for teachers (“What Do You Rememeber From Y.E.A.H.?” – kahoot
