Why make quizzes online with the school’s web-site?• Students can easily find and take them.• The web-site has some good tools for compiling
results electronically.• The web-site can provide continuity between
classrooms – students will see the same format.• Teachers of the same subject can easily use the
same quizzes.
Online Quizzes
Why online?• Students can take an "open internet" quiz• Grading is done automatically without
shuffling papers• Students can take the quiz outside of
class and receive instant feedback• It is easy to compare performance across
sections• You can easily keep an electronic record
of the quiz responses and results
Online Quizzes
Challenges• Technology issues are a possibility• Teacher feedback to students is less
comprehensive• Short answer responses are more difficult to
grade than on paper.• Quiz setup takes time / there is a learning curve• Keeping students on task can be difficult
But online is still worth doing in many cases!
