All oral health outcomes are worsening among children: • More tooth decay • More urgent dental needs • More treatments required
Findings: School Dental Screenings Compared to Windsor… • LaSalle and Tecumseh have less decayed, missing, and filled teeth. • Leamington has more decayed, missing, and filled teeth. • Amherstburg, Essex, Kingsville, and Lakeshore had no significant difference
in decayed, missing, and filled teeth.

Children in Need of Treatment (CINOT) and Healthy Smiles Ontario (HSO) spent $1.17 million to provide treatment to WEC children in 2015.
RECOMMENDATIONS 1. Oral health education into other programs
2. Screenings for preschool & nursery programs
3. Preventive services in schools at higher risk
4. Community promotional campaign
5. Collaborations to implement early-stage preventive oral care & education
6. Expand oral health outreach programs
