Background
Suicide Events are Classified as:
➢ Successful SuicideDefined as death caused by self-directed injurious behaviors with the intent to die as a result of the behaviors
➢ Unsuccessful SuicideDefined as actions designed to end one’s life that for a number of reasons failed to result in death
➢ Suicide AttemptDefined as non-fatal, self-directed, potentially injurious behaviors with an intent to die as a result of the behaviors even if the behavior does not result in injury
➢ Suicide IdeationDefined as thinking about, considering, or planning suicide
