Children are expected to speak English at all times in the classroom.We use the “English ladder” to monitor this. Children are rewarded with house points. We will contact parents if children consistently struggle to speak in English.
Speaking English:
Behaviour is monitored using the Class Behaviour Chart. Each child begins the day on 0. If a child does not follow our class rules, he/she is given a verbal warning. If misbehaviour persists, he/she is moved to 1. If a child reaches 5, he/she must see Mrs Stanford and parents are informed. Certain unacceptable behaviour goes straight to 5. (fighting, swearing)

We recommend children do the lesson first, then the set homework. It is important that the children press “Checkout” when they finish and so save their work.
Spellings are given on a Friday.Children must learn them and practise writing them (Look, Say, Cover, Write, Check).Children must write a sentence for each spelling that clearly shows its meaning!(not, My cousin has a skyscraper)Spelling books should be returned by Wednesday. There may be a focus.
