HUG AN ELDER WE DON’T HAVE A “HUG YOUR ELDER DAY”, BUT MAYBE WE SHOULD!
The Elders have a tremendous responsibility to lead the church and to
make wise decisions. It is the responsibility of the church body to make
the Elders’ job one of joy and not a burden (Hebrews 11:17). Serving God
with love, we follow the leadership of the Elders. We show our
apprecia1on to these men and say, “Thank you, very much.” A KIND WORD STRENGTHENS A
PERSON AND JUST PLAIN MAKES A PERSON FEEL GOOD!. . . . . . .The church is based on love.
The church was established by Jesus with his love for each of us. GOD LOVES US. The Holy Spirit
loves us. Every good work we do in the church is based on love. The early church in the second
chapter of Acts is a good example of love. The Saints ate together in their homes. They shared all
their belongings. No one was in need. They prayed together, ate together and praised God. We
today, need to follow the examples of these early Chris-ans and we need to help our Elders lead
us in the ways of the early Chris-an church. . . . .So as we think on the love in the church, THE
LOVE ENERGY, let us remember these men who work for us and serve as our leaders. Let us
strive to make their work a joy so that we may all rejoice together. Thank you, Jesus, for loving
me. Thank you for your church. Thank you, God, for loving me. Thank you for all of your
blessings. Thank you, Holy Spirit, for loving me and for filling my cup with love. Amen.
