Commercial Product Data Sheet
Description Sealoflex Sealclear is a siloxane emulsion that produces a high performance water repellent coating. Excellent adhesion to concrete, brick, masonry and natural and synthetic stone. Sealoflex Sealclear cures to a tough elastomeric polysiloxane film.Sealoflex Sealclear is a water borne product which yields a transparent coating and provides immediate long-lasting water repellency. Sealoflex Sealclear dramatically reduces capillary water absorption, yet is permeable to water vapor, allowing the substrates to “breathe”. Sealoflex Sealclear is “UV transparent” - virtually impervious to UV degradation of the siloxane coating.
Uses Sealclear is recommended as an external masonry and cement water repellent for vertical and non-traffic able horizontal surfaces. It is particularly suitable for highly alkaline surfaces such as brick, walls, concrete, stucco, limestone, natural and synthetic stone.
Advantages• Prevents mildew, surface staining, lime leaching and salt
efflorescence• Chemically bonds to substrate and will not break down
even under harsh UV conditions• Allows substrate to breathe and won’t trap moisture• Dries completely clear and will not leave a glossy finish• Low molecular weight which provides excellent penetration
depth making it ideally suited for areas subject to abrasion such as patios, walkways and pavers
• Great alkaline resistance allows the product to be applied to new construction
• Dries tack free and will not retain dirt
Coverage Coverage depends on porosity of substrate. Coverage range is between 80 and 100 sq. ft./gal. (total for both coats)
Surface Preparation Ensure all surfaces are cleaned to remove loose deposits, mildew growth, efflorescence and paint. All surfaces must be oil and grease free. Repair all cracks and faults in the substrate before treatment. Substrate needs to be dry before application. Moisture will impair penetration of Sealclear.
Application It is advisable to treat the entire surface and not patch. This prevents water finding new points of entry at the edges of the treated surface. Stir or shake the contents of the container well before using. Apply by brush, roller or sprayer. Ensure Sealclear saturates the surface completely. Use a pressure of less than 5 psi to avoid misting. Apply 2 coats for maximum protection. Sealclear will reach full cure about 24 hours after the last coat is applied, at an ambient temperature of 75˚F.
Cleaning Use water to remove Sealclear from brushes and spray equip-ment. Use mineral spirits to clean cured material.
Precautions Do not allow Sealclear to come in contact with glass surfaces as it will cause streaking. Sealclear is not designed for waterproofing in areas of substantial hydrostatic pressure. Always apply Sealclear to a test area prior to commencing application to ensure that no discoloration occurs.
