CLASS PROCEDURES7th and 8th grade students report straight to the locker room to meet
their P.E. teacher. 6th graders will report directly to the gymnasium.Students will have 5 minutes to change and line up inside of the locker
room. Each 7th and 8th grade student will be assigned a locker with a combination lock. No books, pens, or markers will be allowed in the gym.
Students will walk with their teacher to the gym and sit/stand in their assigned spot.
Classes consist of a warm-up, activity, and lesson closure.Students will walk back to locker room with their teacher and have 5
minutes to change.6th grade students will not be required to change (except for swimming)
and therefore will not receive a P.E. locker.***Until further notice students will report directly to the gym and will
not be required to change, but will be required to have sneakers to participate****
EXPECTATIONSStudents are expected to report to class on
time, change, and be ready to leave the locker room with their classmates.
Students are expected to participate in all components of the lesson (warm-up, activity, closure)
Students are expected to show respect, good sportsmanship, and cooperation throughout the entire class period.
There is no food or drinks allowed in the gym or pool, including gum.
LOCKER ROOMRULES AND PROCEDURES
No food or drinks will be allowed in the locker room.All personal belongings including cell phones, Ipods/Itouch,
PSP’s, money, etc. should be locked in their lockers. THE P.E. STAFF WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ITEMS LOST OR STOLEN DURING CLASS!
Horseplay, bullying, and inappropriate language in the locker room will not be tolerated and will result in disciplinary action that could include call back after school, written referral, administrative discipline, and/or a phone call to parents/guardians.
Lockers will be emptied before November, December, February, and April breaks. Due to sanitary concerns, items left in lockers may be discarded. Students will be given at least 1 week to clean out their lockers prior to a break.

GRADING POLICY5 points= student is on time to and from class, changed,
participates, and shows good sportsmanship.3 points= student is on time, participates but does not
change.Participation (80 %)Written or physical skills assessment (20 % of total grade)NOTE: Absences exceeding 8 in one quarter will result in a
significant loss of quarterly points and may lead to a possible failure.
Penalties- tardiness to and from class, vandalism, physical/ verbal aggression, disrespect, name calling will result in loss of 1 point per infraction.
Students who are tardy to or from class 3 times in a quarter will lose their locker room privileges for the next class.

FAILURE TO PARTICIPATE1st Time Offense- Student earns a zero for the
class period and a conference with the teacher.2nd Time Offense- Student earns a zero and an
after school detention.3rd Time Offense- Student earns zero and will
have an after-school detention, and a phone call to a parent/guardian.
***Each time a student refuses to participate they will be required to fill in a worksheet based on the lesson of the day. ****

SWIMMING PROGRAMAll students will be required to swim at some point during the
school year. Students will be grouped according to swimming ability. Students will be required to have a bathing suit, towel, and goggles in order to participate in the aquatics program. More information about the swimming program will be given when we are ready to use the pool. Please tell your parent/guardian that you need a bathing suit NOW! This will give you enough time to get a bathing suit before we begin swimming and you will not lose any time or points.
