WHAT IS LANGUAGE LEARNING:Language learning strategies, defined as specific actions taken
by the learner to make learningeasier, faster, more enjoyable, more self-directed, more

According to Shen (2004), the three encoding
strategies identified in the study were rotememorization, student self-generated
elaboration, and instructor guided elaboration. ROTE MEMORIZATION : the use of
REPETITATIVE rehearsal strategiessuch as listening to the instructor present the
sound, shape and meaning of the wordsrepeatedly without elaboration, and havebeen observed to be related to shallowprocessing in the memory.

1. SRML provides major support in CHLL for FLLcompared to teachers in school
2. SRML enhance reading competency for
FLL in CHLL because SRML is self-directed &with audio & video for encoding.
3. SRML provide changes in support withprompts along with metacognitivestrategies to realize the scaffold conceptand push the learning competency to themaximum.
4. Learners involved in SRML perform betterthan those who dont

1. Provide valuable alternativessupport for FLL in their CHLL.
