GuestsFor out-of-town guests you can purchase a class for $10. Guest passes cannot be purchased in lieu of registration. Courses are not pro-rated if any classes are missed.

Israel on Stage 11:15 – 12:15 PM | COURSE FEE $58Instructor: Deborah Baer Mozes, Founder & Artistic Director of Theater ArielTheatre in Israel is vibrant, with one of the highest audience attendance records globally. Israel’s theatres present a combination of new Israeli plays, classic Israeli plays, and translations of American and European playwrights. Here in the United States, American playwrights explore and respond to Israel through their work. Israel On Stage will take a look at the history of Hebrew/Israeli theatre, as we read works by Israeli and American playwrights that look at Israeli history, society, religious life, and contemporary challenges.

Instructor: Leila Joffe, MFA, American Conservatory Theater, Member; AFTRA, Screen Actors Guild and Actors EquityMarvin Hamlisch and Jerry Herman were two of our greatest American musical theater composers. They composed Hello Dolly and A Chorus Line, among many other great shows. This course will take an in depth look at their lives and the melodies they left behind!

WEDNESDAYS 6 WEEKS FEBRUARY 26 – APRIL 1

The Case Against Civilization: Agriculture, Myth and the Domestication of Earth 10:00 – 11:00 PM | COURSE FEE $49

Instructor: Steve Pollack, Opera Singer, Music EducatorThe purpose of this course is to highlight the progression of man’s subjugation of the earth since ancient times, from subservience to the earth to dominance over it. The course explores the potential disaster from the legacy of pollution, trash, nuclear threat and global warming that looms over future generations. The course reviews the evolution of human behavior resulting from the Agricultural Revolution, development of domestication of plants and animals, advancement of trade and money, appearance of nations and religion, and the progression of imperialism, slavery and racism, which have led to the formation of the world as we know it, today. it explores the “Anthropocene Era,” termed as the age of the earth in which the effects of humankind are dominant over the environment. Lastly, the course explores the willingness of mankind to claim earth’s riches in the name of nation, God and glory, and show the relationship of these elements in expressions of art, music and literature.

The Supremes – Cases, Controversies, And The Justices Of The U.S. Supreme Court 11:15– 12:15 AM | COURSE FEE $49

Instructor: Sheldon Seligsohn, JD, Temple Law School This course will examine the history and personalities of the U.S. Supreme court. Members of the court are unelected and serve for life. Their decisions have a profound affect on our daily activities. Learn about legal philosophy and the colorful judges who created it. Lecture, movie clips and class discussion are the tools used in this class.

Instructor: Dr. Moylan Mills, Professor of Integrative Arts, Penn State UniversityShort films are often dismissed by critics as insignificant because they are considered to be too short to contain much depth or lasting interest. I disagree with this viewpoint. Let us take a look at several short films that you will never forget.

Origami for Beginners 12:30 – 1:45 PM | COURSE FEE $50

Instructor: David Matz, Ph.D.Origami is the Japanese art of paper folding, and doing it with your grandchildren is a wonderful way to bond with them. Your grandchildren will love making penguins, flapping cranes, skittering butterflies, etc. But first, YOU have to learn to make them. This beginner’s course will start with the simplest folds and will teach you to make some simple models as well as to read standard origami diagrams and directions so you can evolve to more difficult models if you find the interest. Class is limited to 10 people.

Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention 12:30 – 1:30 PM | COURSE FEE $49

Instructor: Anthony Saguto, Certified Tai Chi Instructor Tai Chi, the ancient Chinese exercise, is one of the most effective exercises for health of mind and body.
