LEADERSHIPCONFERENCEFACILITATOR(L1ANDL2)DESCRIPTIONLeadershipConferenceFacilitators(L1andL2)willbeexpectedtofacilitateanddeliverconferencecurriculumtoFFAmembersbothinalargegroupandsmallgroupsetting.Facilitatorsareexpectedtopossessstrongknowledgerelativetotheirspecificconferenceandconductadditionalresearchtobecomeprepared.AdditionalroleresponsibilitiesincludecoachingFFAmembers,motivatingandengagingstudents,andclassroommanagement(withtheexceptionofstudentdiscipline,whichistheresponsibilityofteacherssupervisingattheconference).Facilitatorpositionrequirements:

GeneralNotes:

• MostGLCconferencesarescheduledduringthelasttwoweeksofAugustandintoSeptemberoverathreetofour-dayperiod,typicallyincludingTuesdays,WednesdaysandThursdays.

o Staffshouldplantomissaminimumoffour/fivedaysofschool,butasmanyaseightdayswithtraveldependingonconferencescheduling,hostsitesandtheirclasses.TheaimisforconferencestotakeplacewithinthefirstfourweeksofUniversitystarting,whichreducestheimpactofmisseddays(forthoseataUCorPoly,thismaybebeforecoursesbegin).

• MostMFEandALAconferencesarescheduledduringthefirsteightweekendsofJanuaryandintoFebruaryonFridays/Saturdays,withafewback-to-backconferencesonSundays/Mondays.

o Staffshouldplantomissaminimumoftwodaysofschool,butasmanyastendayswithtraveldependingonhowstaffstructuretheirFridayclassschedule.

• Staffshouldconsidermodifyingtheiracademicscheduletoallowforfreedaysorflexiblecourses.Staffshouldcommunicatewithinstructorstonotifytheminadvanceoftheirabsence;theywillreceivealetterfromthestatedescribingtheresponsibilitiesofthisopportunitythatcanassistwithmissingschool.TheTeamLeaderwillmentorandprovideguidanceoncreatingwork/academiclifebalance.
