Filling station ► Customer can refuel at
regular natural gas filling stations
► Charges by financial system equal to green power
Electrolysis
e-gas Plant
Methanation
Production and feed-in ► Production of e-gas with
subsequent feed-in into the public natural gas grid
Vehicle ► When ordering the vehicle,
the customer can request “CO2 neutral mobility“
Project Werlte – e-‐gas Audi
§ e-‐gas Audi driving factor: “CO2 neutral mobility.” “Power-‐to-‐gas technology links the electricity grid with the natural gas network.”
§ Increase of sustainability in fuel producTon for automoTve § The plant will power ca. 1500 Audi A3 g-‐tron for 15,000 km of CO2 neutral driving every year

§ Upgrading Technology: unpressurized Amine Scrubbing for CO2 removal and Biomethane producTon
§ Biomethane produced is of idenTcal quality as fossil natural gas and is injected into the local gas grid – as well as the Audi e-‐gas (SyntheTc Natural Gas, SNG)

§ The Amine Scrubbing supplies high quality Biomethane and high purity CO2 (> 99,9 Vol.-‐%) § Another advantages is the CO2 outlet pressure of 5 bar (no addiTonal compression required). § The „waste stream“ CO2 from the Amine Plant offers great applicability within the Power-‐to-‐Gas process § CO2 is supplied directly to the methanisaTon plant without addiTonal pre-‐condiToning or compression.

§ The combinaTon of Amine Scrubbing and Power-‐to-‐Gas offers the highest energy efficiency. § Heat produced by the exothermal process of methanisaTon needs to be removed from the process conTnuously.
§ This heat is used for the regeneraTon of the Amine SoluTon. § Besides the CO2 demand of the methanisaTon also the heat demand of Amine Scrubbing is derived from a „waste stream“ (excess heat).
