1.0 INTRODUCTION
1.1 Preamble
Ordinary Sand is base of all types of Building works, Construction of Road,
Construction of Cement Concrete road, The need of Ordinary Sand is in all
fields are very essential as it is a compulsory material for all types of
construction, and Industries fields, Ordinary Sand Mines are providing
employments to the local Labour in Rural area, as the labour of rural area
have no any work for labour, They are Unemployed, Thus this proposed mine
is providing work to many labours and it is a good employment.
2.0 Executive Summary
Pintu Gopiji Vanzara is a proposed mine, as the demand of construction
material in all sectors are highly necessary, and This project is providing and
trying to fulfil major demands of Ordinary Sand in complete around area.
About 00-76-00 hectare of land is under possession of Pintu Gopiji VanzaraAt, Village : Pethapur, Taluka : Gandhinagar, Dist : Gandhinagar.
As per the statuary obligation this project needs environmental clearance from
department of Environment and forest dept. (GPCB) Gujarat. it is proposed
lease and to renew and start quarrying operations (production) Accordingly
project proponent has submitted form 1, pre-feasibility report and copy of
Approval letter from department of mines and geology Gujarat, to the state
level environmental assessment authority of Gujarat constituted by MOEF,
GOI for issuing environmental clearance, as per EIA, September 14.2006
notification.
3.0 Introduction of the Project/Background information :
3.1 Name of the proposed unit : Pintu Gopiji Vanzara
Registered Office : Pintu Gopiji Vanzara
67/ 68, Sector-2,
Nirnay Nagar, Ranip Road,
Ahmedabad.
Location of proposed unit : Village : Pethapur,
On River bed Sabarmati River
Patt Paiky S. No. 3030,
3031, 3053
Taluka : Gandhinagar.
Dist: Gandhinagar. (Gujarat)
Name of Owner : Pintu Gopiji Vanzara
3.2 Brief description of nature of the project :
It is a Ordinary Sand Quarrying, it contains Ordinary Sand which is used
in construction of infrastructures and road, railways and building
construction etc.
3.3 Demand - Supply Gap : As sand is used as raw material in
construction of building and infrastructure projects, the demand of sand
is increasing day by day. In past, demand was not too much but now a
days due to rapid industrialization and urbanization its demand
increasing with pace of time. At present, demand of sand is more than
the supply.
3.4 Imports vs. Indigenous Production : In Gandhinagar of Gujarat, a
number of sand mines are there. There is abundance of sand in the
area; it had become a major source of economy in the area/region.
3.5 Export Possibility : There is ban on sand export to other states in the
Gujarat by Govt. so export possibility of river sand from this area is
marginal. Major consumers of sand located almost in nearby areas in
the district.
3.6 Domestic / Export Markets : Sand produced is used locally as well as
circulated in nearby area. So clearly there is a huge market of sand in
the area.
3.7 Employment Generation (Direct and Indirect) due to the project :
By this mining project of river sand in the area, peoples get
employment, The project directly generates the employment for the
local people and indirectly for the others. Also the marketing of the
product generates the employment for peoples. By this project,
approximately Skilled labours-3 and Unskillled-10 to 15 labours on
project site.
4.0 Project Description :
4.1 Type of project including interlinked and interdependent project ifany : No others material is interlinked with this mining work.
4.2 Location (map showing general location, specific location andproject boundary & project site layout) with co-ordinates : The area
has been marked on Google map including the mining lease location.
This comprises the mining lease near village : Pethapur, Taluka :
Gandhinagar, Dist Gandhinagar of Gujarat location of the mining lease
is as under.
The geographical location of the project is as follows :
N E
230.15'34.78" 720 40'48.97"
4.3 Details of alternate sites, considered and the basis of selecting theproposed site, particularly the environmental considerations goneinto should be highlighted : No other site is considered for the
proposed project. The land has been allocated by government for the
mining only. As sand in the river is replenished every year by river so,
site is adequate for sand mining.
4.4 Size or magnitude of operation : B category manual.
The proposed Capacity / year is 3500 TPM. Total area of mining lease
is 00-76-00 Ha. The mining operation will be @ 3500 Tonne Production
of River sand per annum.
4.5 Project description with process details (a schematic diagram/flowchart showing the project layout, components of the project etc. isgiven below:

Transportation to end use
4.6 Raw material required along with estimated quantity, likely source, marketing area of final products. Mode of transport of rawmaterials And finished products :
No raw material is required during the mining process.
4.7 Resource optimization / recycling and reuse envisaged in the
project. If any, should be briefly outlined :
As a result of extraction of mineral, the rate of recharging of ground
water is likely to be increased considerably.
4.8 Availability of water its source, Energy/power requirement and
source should be given :
Total water requirement in the mine will be about 2.0 KLD for drinking &
domestic use, dust suppression and plantation. Drinking water will be
brought by water tanker from nearby village Pethapur. Diesel will be
used in dumpers and tractors.
Nearby village Pethapur is well electrified.
4.9 Quantity of wastes to generated (liquid and solid) and scheme for
their Management/disposal :
No waste will be generated. All the material is saleable.
4.10 Schematic representations of the feasibility drawing which give
information of EIA purpose :
According to MOEF mining project containing area ≤5 Ha. are
considered in category B2. Schematic representations of the feasibility is
as under.
