English SPELLING AND DICTATION
• Spelling and Dictation are fundamental skills needed for
other language production skills such as reading and writing
to emerge.
• The lower the ability of the child to associate sound with
letters, the greater the struggle in textual construction
• Spelling and Dictation word list & passages will given in
advance
Ensure that your child learns the Spelling and Dictation
• Corrections:
Spelling – 3 times for a word
Dictation – whole sentence
• Parent’s endorsement (weekly)
English SHOW & TELL Objectives: Provide a platform / opportunity for pupils to: • present ideas in speech • build confidence in speaking in front of classmates

Help from parents:
• The handout for the Show & Tell would be given in
advance
• A sample presentation script will be provided for you to
prepare your child for the presentation.
• Use ‘wh’ questions to help your child put together what
he/she wants to present to the class
