PROCESS FLOW CHART
STERILIZER• FFB is directly heated
by saturated steam in
a pressurized vessel
OBJECTIVE To loosen fruit-lets from the bunch To inactivate enzymes activity that promote FFA (free fatty
acid) To precondition the mesocarp to facilitate oil recovery To prepare / pre-treat the nut for cracking
THRESHER
• FFB is fed and lifted in
a rotating drum• The fruit-lets will
detach from the bunch
OBJECTIVE
To separate the fruit-lets from sterilized bunches
DIGESTER
• Fruit-lets will be stirred
and steam is continuously
inject into the digester to maintain
Temperature about 95-100°C for
About 20 min. OBJECTIVE
To loosen the mesocarp from palm nut. To break the oil cells.
PRESSING
• The fruit-lets will pass
through to the press station• The digested fruit
will be pressed by screw press
OBJECTIVE To extract oil from the mesocarps.
OIL CLARIFICATION
• A tank in which mixture of oil,
water and non solids
will store within 5 hours
to allow sludge settle at the bottom
OBJECTIVE To separate oil from sludge.
OIL PURIFICATION
• Moisture and dirt are separated by the oil purifier
OBJECTIVEOil purification from
moisture and dirt
VACUUM DRYER
• The oil is dried through vacuum dryer.
OBJECTIVE To separate moisture
from oil.
BULK STORAGE TANK
• Purified Crude Palm Oil is
pumped into the Bulk
Storage Tank.
OBJECTIVECPO storage being
transported to Refinery.
