CallPilot Unified Messaging, Nortel
delivers a solid application that will

CallPilot can also utilizes speech
recognition and TCP/IP digital
networking to give complete access
and total control of fax, e-mail and
voice messages. Using simple voice
commands like "play" or "print,"
a user can remotely manage their
multimedia communications over the
telephone. The user can print faxes,
store or delete voice messages and
more just by speaking.
The CallPilot Range of
Platforms
The CallPilor Range comprises three
platforms, these being:
• The 202i server is a flexible
multimedia telephony server designed
to integrate with Nortel Meridian
1* and Communication Server
1000* products. The 202i server
occupies two slots of a Meridian 1
shelf or Communication Server 1000
Media Gateway or Media Gateway
Expansion.
• The 600r rack-mount server is a new
platform that is used with CallPilot
5.0. The 600r is a multimedia
telephony server with a mid-range
capacity. The 600r server has a fixed
capacity of 96 voice channels and
1200 hours of storage.
• The 1005r hardware platform is a
long-life industrial server in a standard
rack-mount 2U form factor. It utilizes
dual Xeon technology and proven,
reliable SCSI hard-drive technology.

In addition to the email clients CallPilot 5.0 features and services can also be accessed through a number of slim clients or web
environments. These being:

Key Features
The system can be initially installed with core Voice Messaging feature functionality
and advanced applications can be added to CallPilot later without adding peripheral
hardware elements. The available applications include:
• Unified Messaging: Offers customers the ability to combine voice, fax and e-mail
messages into their e-mail client interface (Microsoft Outlook, Lotus Notes, Novell
GroupWise, Qualcomm Eudora).
• Integrated Voice and Fax Messaging: Provides the ability to receive both voice and fax
messages into a single mailbox, a truly multimedia mailbox.
• E-mail by Phone: Provides a user access to their e-mail messages via a phone using
text-to-speech technology.
• Speech Activated Messaging: Provides a natural, easy to use voice command
interface for mobile users to access their voice and e-mail messages hands-free while
on a mobile phone.
• Networking: CallPilot can utilize Voice Profile for Internet Mail (VPIM) to offer seamless
networking to other CallPilot systems, Meridian Mail systems, Norstar systems or other
VPIM-compliant vendor systems. AMIS analog networking is also provided to network
between legacy voicemail systems.
• Application Builder: Enables the CallPilot administrator(s) to quickly construct caller
applications such as Voice Menus and Automated Attendants.
