The goals of the Summer School
The International Summer School on Social Banking provides a unique opportunity for interested and engaged people to meet and develop new perspectives on banking and finance.
GoalsWithin the Summer School, we• create awareness for the role of banks in society and the economy,• present cases and best practices of already existing socially oriented banks and banking products,• question the personal relationship to money and the present banking system,• offer spaces for creative and solution-oriented discussions on banking and finance and their role in society,• critically reflect on the concepts and ideas behind socially oriented banking.
In addition to introducing Social Banking in general, every International Summer School on Social Banking addresses a main topic. In 2010, we focus on “Banking on values” and ask “what values?” these actually are. As banking is a social interaction, we will also link these discussions to our personal values.
