  • Jesus Fulfilled the Law and the ProphetsIn that

    He met all the requirements Leviticus 18:5

    Through his death he met the penalty for all of us who did not fullfill all the requirements of the Law.

    His life fulfilled all the Messianic expectationsthe foreshadows and prefigures in the laws, the sacrifices, the festivals.

    He expanded the Law of Moses to what God expected it to be all along.

  • Things I Learn About Jesus From the Prophecies He FulfilledMatthew 1:22-23 (Isaiah 7:14)

    The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son and will call him Immanuel (God-with-us).

    This tells us that:

    Jesus is the son of man humanJesus is the son of God GodJesus is God-with-us.

  • Matthew 2:15 (Hoseah 11:1)Out of Egypt I called my son. Jesus is Saviour.

    Out of Egypt God called Moses

    Out of Egypt God called his people Israel.

    Out of Egypt God called Jesus as the savior of his people

    Out of Egypt God calls us, all of who are slaves to sin (John 8:31f)

    Q: Is Jesus your savior? Have you come out of Egypt?

  • Matt 2:23 (Isaiah 11:1-2, Jeremiah 23:5)He will be called a Nazarene.

    Nazer = shoot, branch

    Isaiah 11:1-2, Jeremiah 23:5 Messiah is the branch of Jesse and of David.

    Meaning: Jesus will be the son or royalty and will himself be a king.

    Q: Is Jesus your king?

  • Matthew 12:15-21 A Humble and Gentle Servant

    Jesus: Healer of the sick.

    Preacher of justice to the nations

    A bruised reed he will not break

  • Matthew 21:4-5Matthew 21:4-5 Riding on a colt. Jesus is King your king, but not the kind of king the world expects.

  • Matt 26:14-16 27:3-10 (Zechariah 11:12,13)

    I told them, If you think it best, give me my pay; but if not, keep it. so they paid me thirty pieces of silver. (Matthew 26:14-16)And the Lord said to me, Throw it to the potterthe handsome price at which they priced me!     All of us sold him out for the price of a slave.

    The blood money was used to take care of the needs of Gentiles.
