With Regards,
From the desk of the Adviser
I feel to be fortunate to be a s s o c i a t e d w i t h SANTINIKETAN INSTITUTE O F P O L Y T E C H N I C , a n Educat iona l Inst i tute of Engineering & Technology. It is approved by A.I.C.T.E and is
affiliated to West Bengal State Council of Technical & Vocational Education & Skill Development. The Institute was established in 2010 by SWADHIN, a registered charitable t rust , in a ver y ca lm and peacefu l environment, in close proximity of Visva-Bharati University, Santiniketan. Being a University Town, Bolpur has become an educational hub of high standard where students learn with all seriousness. Bolpur is also a world famous tourist spot which is visited by people from all over the world to witness the works done by the creator of h i g h e s t h u m a n c u l t u r e , G u r u d e v Rabindranath Tagore.
69 years after Independence, India is now in the field of rapid development. It is now in a leading position in the world. India, which has one of the ancient cultures in the world, is now taking stride in Technological Developments. It is in need of skilled Technical Manpower. While Engineering
Degree Colleges are coming up very fast there is lag in the development of Diploma Institutions. The country is, therefore, facing a shortage in Diploma Engineers. The all India Council for Technical Education is seized of th is matter and is encouraging the development of more Polytechnics.
SWADHIN charitable trust has taken a r ight step for the establ ishment of Santiniketan Institute of Polytechnic in Bolpur. In this Institute attention is given for the all round development of students. While technical Education and skills are given prior attention, due importance is given for raising the human values in a student. There is good teacher-student relation and the teachers take all the care to develop the students into worthy citizens of India. The efforts taken by the Management & the Faculty Members, have already started to bear fruits. In the Semester Examinations of West Bengal State Council of Technical & Vocational Education & Skill Development, more than 99% of our students have secured above 70% marks with a large number of students securing 80% and above marks. These excellent result will permit our students to go for higher studies & get themselves placed in high positions in their future career.

From the desk of the Secretary
De a r e s t S I P w a s established on 2010 under SWADHIN by directly or indirectly involvement, associate, co-operation of some pupils. Personally, I
appreciate the enthusiasm, encouragement, responsibility of the key personnel of the Institute as well as the hands behind it from the day of its establishment. This is the only reason of its Success. Our staffs, students, guardians, well wishers take valuable part for its development by enhancing their own field of work.My co workers told me repeatedly to write something in the Prospectus 2016. I am thinking and thinking for two weeks, realized, that, is there anything remain, to proved to everybody, why Santiniketan Institute of Polytechnic became the first priority to everyone in just 6 years of its establishment? Pleasant Academic & A d m i n i s t r a t i v e A c t i v i t i e s , W e l l Management, Best Equipped Laboratories,
Barrier Free Environment, Wide Campus and obviously the biggest JOB FAIR among West Bengal organized by us in every year. We provide every facility to make a students carrier bright, to make they proportionate to the Industry, in the field of their work. In spite of that, we are always devoted to deliver a good human being to the nation as well as the Society. These were the only reasons why students from the other States like Bihar, Jharkhand, Tr ipura , Assam, and others chose Santiniketan Institute of Polytechnic for their higher studies, in the end of the day, I th ink, i t proved our abi l i ty, which established our unique identity, which showed the goal of our Success. I really feel so proud to be a small part of it. And obviously, Still we have but Long Miles to go.
Always trying to overcome the failures, dont come the successor, just hate the failures.

Principals Message
s a Principal of Santiniketan Institute of Polytechnic I thank you all the students to Atake the decision to study in our institution as it is a growing institute with having ISO9001:2008 certification. The institute is situated beside Visva Bharati which is a dream project ongoing of Kabiguru Rabindranath Tagore. For the information of the readers of this prospectus and the students who want to be part of this college I can happily say that we are running six trades over here, namely - Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Computer and survey. Each year we take around 600 students in various branches of our college. The break up of the intakes are- Civil (120), Mechanical (180), Electrical (120), Electronics (60), Computer (60), Survey (60).
The institute is running by a trust called SWADHIN which is a Society for Welfare and Development of Human initiatives. The trust is doing a wonderful job for providing international standards laboratories and infrastructure. Our faculties are well qualified and are having teaching or industry experiences which help them to teach the students in a well structured manner. We follow AICTE norms to recruit all the faculties of our institution.
Our campus placement record is very good. You can have a look to our prospectus for cross checking our records. The same can also be visited to find out the names of the esteemed recruiters. If you have any queries about our college you can visit our website for clarifying that. Also the contact numbers and E-mail addresses are given there and you are always welcome to send or ask queries to us and we will be happy to answer the queries.
SWADHIN trust has taken some initiatives to open some ITI colleges in various locations on and around Bolpur which will also be the recruitment places for our students.
Our hostels are safe and very homely place to stay at. We are having four boys and two girls hostel inside the campus where we can accommodate around 600-650 students. Hostel supers and wardens are there to look after various problems of the students.
At last I assure everybody about quality education in our institution with competent faculties, good laboratories and well-equipped infrastructures.

Vice Principals Message
Welcome to Santiniketan Institute of Polytechnic (SIP), I appeal to the parents to support their wards' education by encouraging them, and keeping them focused on performing to their very best ability. Please regularly be in contact with faculty about your
wards' progress in an effort to affirm success or working together in setting new goals for
achievement. Students can achieve success when responsibility is accepted with sincerity,
integrity and purpose. If we all work together and communicate effectively, our individual
and institute goals can be attained.
An educational institute is not just about bricks, mortar and concrete, but about building character,
enriching minds and enriching experience that last longer. Life is not a set of instructions but is a saga of
experiences and learning process. Engineering is no exception. This is where Santiniketan Institute of
Polytechnic (SIP) steps in - To make the difference and where learning is not just a series of instructions but a
passion.
Our challenge is to ensure that each and every student is equipped with the knowledge and skills he
or she would need to be successful at his/her workplace. In this connection, the institute is supporting the

It is a fast-changing world today. Technology innovations are disrupting every aspect of our lives like never before and India is emerging as a leader in such innovations. With initiatives like Make in India our country has already becomean ideal destination for both foreign and domestic investments. So the time is apt for our students to make the best use of these opportunities and embark on a great career. And to reach there what is of paramount importance is the right approach and right guidance. With a disciplined process, high class faculty, and brilliant studentsthere is
no reason why this goal cannot be accomplished.
As Director, Corporate Relations, I will be relentlessly focused to help this instituteget the best of such opportunities and help our students achieve this goal. I have no doubt that Santiniketan Institute of Polytechnic (SIP) is one of the premiere institutes of West Bengal and our students are fully capable of succeeding at a global level. I have been associated with the Placement industry for more than a decade now. Prior to that I served in the corporate sector for more than thirty years. It has been an honor to closely work with todays generation of students, understand their needs, their challenges, mentor them and work towards placing them in organizations where their mettle could be proved and their careers could be made. The story does not end with just by landing into a job. Every student has to be extremely focused and properly oriented to learn and perform and be able to make a mark. It is anunending fight to move forward and my role will be to equip and enable this bright student pool for the journey ahead.
As Swami Vivekananda had said, Arise, Awake. And stop not till the goal is reached- Lets make this our motto and seek satisfaction only in our success. We will have to pledge to stay focused and make great use of every opportunity that comes our way.All the very best.

Sanniketan Instute of Polytechnic, founded in 2010, is
located at rural backdrop far from the maddening crowd.
Sll all the facilies of Bolpur and Sanniketan are within
easy and comfortable reach. The impact of Tagores

flowers and of course, the posive nod of tree tops.
Any casual visitor to the campus of SIP may also be
accorded with a warm welcome from patrons, pupils and

Hospital at Sian.
The instute is enrely free from all sorts of polluon and
disturbances.
The total area of the campus spreads over a land area of
15 acres. Buildings of the Instute cover nearly 40% of the
area. It deserves special menon that SWADHIN also runs

From the very beginning of their admission to SIP, students become interested in Cultural Activities. Management of the Institution encourages these to bring out talents which may be hidden in a student. Proximity of Visva- Bharati University is an inspiration. Students' fests and functions are organized regularly with colourful programs which include mime, recitation, songs, drama, elocution, debate, seminar, exhibition, fresher's meet etc. Wall magazine in the name 'Korak', is put up in close intervals to exhibit students' talents in the field of literature.

raining and Placement of the students admitted to Santiniketan Institute of Polytechnic have been Tconsidered with great importance and a separate Cell with a Training and Placement officer-in-charge has been active mainly in the following fields.
(a).Training activities: Apart from the normal institution work in the class rooms and laboratories, for fulfilling the requirements of the Diploma in Engineering, extensive trainings, both in house and outhouse, are undertaken for the all-round development of the student. During their vacations, students are encouraged to undertake vocational training in outside industries, for which the Institute provides all help. Educational trips to nearby industries are also organized by the Department from time to time. Attendance at the Personality Development Programme, organized within the Institution is compulsory for all students. In this programme a student is prepared to face interviews through Group Discussions, Mock Written Tests and interviews and special lessons on Communication and English. Modern digital language laboratory is utilized for these purposes. Outside experts are invited for proper training. For modern industries automation is gradually taking a major role. For some of the industries automation training has become essential. The Institution has procured PLC kits and is providing automation training for which external experts on automation are also invited. Special trainings are also provided in the Autocad laboratory of the Institute. It is heartening to note that students, belonging to all branches of Engineering, have become interested to receive the special trainings both on AutoCAD 2D & 3D. There are immense positioning System (DGPS), for increased accuracy in surveying. Expensive Total Survey Stations have been set up and in house training of both Survey and Civil Engineering students are being done with supervisory visits by experts in the field to cater for the heavy demand of survey engineers in the industries.
(b).SIP Conducted Following Industrial Related Training:
(c).Placement of Students: Considering that Santiniketan Institution is a new Institution with 229 1st batch students obtaining their Diploma in 2013, the training and placement cell has already created good record in the placement of students which will be evident from the following records.

SWADHIN trust can claim to be the pioneer, for organizing Job Fairs in the Polytechnic system, initiated in the campus of Santiniketan Institute of Polytechnic.
st nd rdAfter marvelous success of 1 and 2 Job Fair, we are organized the 3 in the end of winter th ndseason i.e. from 28 February to 2 March 2016. The fair was inaugurated by Shri Bikash
Roy Chowdhury, Sabhadhipati, Birbhum Zilla Parishad, in the presence of distinguished dignitaries and guests. Around 21 companies attend the Job Fair. Not only our students, students from various private as well as Govt. Polytechnics participate in the Fair. In between of 21, some companies are especially for ITIs. Some ITI's, nearby us, are attending the Job Fair. We bear complete arrangements for the participants. The Director, with his team, from the Board of Practical Training, Govt. of India, personally visited the FAIR for guiding the students for Apprentice Training.
The FAIR was successful by fulllment the demand of both employee and the employer. Under the same roof the employer can judge the qualities of the job seeker and the job seeker gets the idea of the nature of the job which he will have to do. The selected list were already published in due time.
In spite of that 'Fair', we conduct On Campus Interview for the Job seekers for the whole academic year. At present around 68% were already placed and the process is ongoing.
