Step 3 - Setting IP address
Enter the requested primary IP address of your device (enter the mask in CIDR notation)
Enter the gateway address e.g. via 192.168.3.1
Enter IP address of remote side (without mask)
The remote side address is IP address of connected device over RF linkThe remote device must have these exact IP addresses (primary IP and remote IP) set vice-versa!
Confirm with button Apply.

Step 4 – Give device a name
It is recommended to set the name of the device according to the locality
The name of device is string in length of 0 –22 characters.
The available characters according to ASCII table are from character 40 to character 126 inclusive.
Select in your web browser menu Generaland left-side folder description.
Note:In section Additional info you can write and save another information, there are five available arrays with up to 70 characters in each, last line is used for web page header name (name of the web browser window).

Step 5 – set basic radio and modem parameters
Select in your web browser menu Radioand left-side folder parameters , and set values for
Tx Frequency Tx PowerActual running Modulation (eventually Adaptive modulations, if needed) ODU Mute parameter to “auto”
Confirm new parameters with button Apply

Step 5 – set basic radio and modem parameters (cont’d)
During antenna alignment turn the ATPC function off.
After correct settings of Tx frequency (and Rx), Max Tx Power set up the opposite side of the link vice-versa and align antennas
(use voltmeter and measure RSSI at the external BNC connector 0V – no signal, 1,6V – maximal signal strength).
After alignment Rx level - RxL (page header on the left) should be in the range from -60 to -35dBm
© 2010 Proxim Wireless. All rights reserved. For latest information on our Wireless Products and Wireless Solutions, please visit our Website. 56
Step 6 – Check data multiplexer parameters
Check parameters at Ports – parameters page and adjust Ethernet speed parameter to maximal capacity for desired design type
190Mbps for designs with bandwidth <= 30MHz, or320Mbps for designs with BW > 30MHz
Real maximal dataflow speed is dynamically lowered according to modulation scheme and E1/T1/E3/T3 RFI MUX settings.
To use internal BER-tester one need to lower Ethernet speed to assign some capacity for BER-tester
At this page one can set parameters of LAN ports in case of problems with auto negotiation
© 2010 Proxim Wireless. All rights reserved. For latest information on our Wireless Products and Wireless Solutions, please visit our Website. 57
Step 7 – Write the configuration and restart the device
At the end of the configuration it is necessary to write any change in device configuration into startup non-volatile memory (called “W0”) of the equipment.
This operation is possible to make by button “WRITE W0” on each page at the upper right corner.
After each restart of device or “run w0” command is configuration restored from this memory.
Do not power-off the device during WRITE W0 command

IP & VLAN setting (cont’d)
Port LAN B2 (interconnection ETH port) is configured as tagged, therefore only tagged frames with VID=2 can ingress/egress this port. Default VID for this port must be still 1, because untagged frames that ingress this port will be then part of VLAN with VID=1.
Port WAN B (CPU port) is configured as untagged (CPU don't support tagged frames), therefore there is necessary to assign default VID to 2 for this port.
Additionally a restriction for communication between local management port and traffic ports is configured in port based section.
