Seminar Presentation 3 Erie PA
March 30,2012
Seminar Credits: PACLE Approved: 5.0 Substantive
Seminar Location: California University of PA, Main Campus, Convocation Center
(includes Lunch)
Presenters: Thomas B. Murphy, John J. Interval, Dr. Bernard D. Goldstein
Mr. Murphy's presentation will examine some key impacts, namely: The current economics driving
the resource plays; The expanding geology including the Utica shale; Environment, water, and
wastewater issues associated with development; Legal and land use implications. The outcome of
the session will be a deeper understanding of the intersection between development of the resource
and the connection to legal community.
Mr. Interval's will give a brief description of Appalachian geology and PA's position within the basin;
explain where the wet to dry gas line is and why economics play a role in where wells are drilled;
show examples of production histories from Greene and Fayette counties to date and explain the
economic difference between the two; describe and summarize Utica Shale Activity.
Dr Goldstein's presentation has two primary goals:
1.to explain in an understandable fashion the basic concepts underlying toxicology, risk
assessment, public health and sustainability, including reviewing the relationships among these
overlapping conceptual approaches;
2.to relate these concepts to issues concerning Marcellus shale activities.

Identifying the Rice Economic
Curve.
Identifying variables that separate
Rice Energy and EQT from the Other
Operators
This is What I Taught at Seminars I Gave on the Marcellus and Utica
Shales in 2011 and 2012.
STEP ONE HAS ONLY BEEN EXECUTED BY RICE ENERGY AND EQT.
PRIMARY REASON FOR THEIR PRIMARY PERFORMANCE.
• Production has improved over time due to the following variables.
• 1.) Staying in the Bottom Section of the Marcellus throughout the entire drilling process.
• 2.) Longer Lateral Wells.
• 3.) More Stages with higher sand concentrations.
Goal
• Show Rice Energy Area of Operations and Compare results with competitors Drilling in the Same Areas of Greene County.
• Comparison of generated revenue will show Rice and EQT are far above everyone else in Dollars generated per well.
• Subsequent to discovering that the Rice Curve is also the EQT curve, Data will show why EQT is an Exploration based company that can confidently extend their model into Other Areas with 100% confidence because they have vision. This data also reveals Rice is exclusively an Infill Developmental company that doesn’t extend their area of operations out of their immediate comfort zone.
• The methods these companies use to achieve these types of Dollars is directly related to running the Highest quality 3D Seismic in order for 100% correct Bit Placement that results in maximizing the subsequent frac jobs effectiveness. .
• This is the vision necessary to extent relative areas. Execute the Plan.
