Second-Largest Offshore Operations Occidental of Qatar (Oxy Qatar) is the second-largest oil producer
offshore, where the company operates Idd El Shargi North Dome
(ISND) and Idd El Shargi South Dome (ISSD).
More than Two Decades Occidental has worked with Qatar Petroleum since 1994 to develop
and operate offshore oil fields. Occidental also participates in
Dolphin Energy, the premier transborder natural gas project in the
Middle East.

than 5 million hours without a single recordable injury in 2016.
Strong Production In 2016, gross production from Occidental’s operations in Qatar
was approximately 620,000 barrels of oil equivalent (BOE) per day.
Occidental’s 2016 share of oil and gas production in Qatar was
approximately 108,000 BOE per day.
Technical Leader – EOROccidental is extending the life of Qatar’s oil fields with large-
scale waterflooding and other EOR (enhanced oil recovery)
projects combined with state-of-the-art horizontal drilling,
advanced completion techniques and extensive automated
artificial lift systems.
400% Production BoostSince beginning operations in 1994, Occidental has boosted
production from the Idd El Shargi fields by more than 400 percent,
with current gross production rates of approximately 95,000
BOE per day.
Local Investment Oxy Qatar worked with more than 315 local vendors in 2016,
spending more than $247 million, nearly 83 percent of total
company expenditures in the country.
Meeting Energy Needs Occidental has a 24.5-percent undivided interest in the
development and production of the Dolphin Energy gas project in
Qatar’s North Field — one of the world’s largest gas reservoirs.
The Dolphin Energy gas plant in Ras Laffan processes
approximately 2.5 billion cubic feet per day of natural gas and
liquids, helping to meet the energy needs of the United Arab
Emirates (UAE) and Oman.
Qatarizat ion CommitmentOccidental supports Qatari employees’ growth and development
through its Qatarization and succession planning programs.
At year-end 2016, Qatari nationals accounted for one in four
employees and nearly one third of management positions.

employees and contractors. Oxy Qatar employees have worked for
the company an average of eight years.

Ajyal Youth Film Festival since 2013. With a focus on community-
