Required Tools: • Stapling pliers with galvanized staples. RecommendBostitch P6C8 which shoots STCR-5019 type staplesup to 3/8 inch in length

• Scissors or Utility Knife (Note: cutting through fiberglass insulation dullsscissors quickly; high quality scissors capable of beingre-sharpened are recommended)

Required Materials: • Roll(s) of EverGreen® Cut ‘n Wrap™ Reusable Insulation48” wide and 96” long

• Roll(s) of double-sided hook and loop fastener

Wrap the firstblanket around thevalve or flange tobe insulated (Note: for a gatevalve, that shouldbe the stem,immediatelybeneath thewheel). Pull thehook and loopstraps so as to tighten the Cut ‘n Wrap blanket. Ifinsulating a flange, you are done with that pipecomponent.

Determine thesize and shape ofCut ‘n Wrapnecessary toinsulate the pipecomponent beinginsulated.

Make a small loopat the loose end ofthe hook and loopmaterial andstaple. This makesit easier to workwith gloves and todetach the hookand loop stripfrom itself.

Cut the requiredblanket piecesfrom the roll ofCut ‘n Wrap.Note: Insulationfor a flangeshould consist ofone blanketpiece of theproper dimension whereas insulation for a gatevalve may consist of two or three separate blanketpieces of the proper dimensions.

Peel hook andloop strips fromthe roll equal inlengths to the Cut ‘n Wrapblanket plus 6 inches.

Staple one end ofeach strip of hookand loop to oneend of the Cut ‘nWrap blanketpiece. Use at least2 staples per strip.

Assemble thenecessary toolsand unroll the Cut ‘n Wrap.

Installation (Steps 1-10)

Cut ’n Wrap™ Insulation Kits*Flanges and Valves

For a gatevalve, continueinstalling thesecond blanketaround thelower part of thevalve stem, closest to thevalve blanket.

For a gatevalve, continueinstalling thethird blanketaround thevalve body. Itmay help to snipseveral inchesinto the Cut ‘nWrap blanketseams to get a better fit on the pipe and around the valve stem.Wrap the valve blanket around one side of the valvestem, and then around the second side. Then comeback to tighten the first hook and loop strap. Youshould loosen the hook and loop strap holding thesecond blanket in place so as to secure part of thethird blanket around the valve stem.

Inspect theinsulatedcomponent tomake certainthat all baresurfaces havebeen coveredwith Cut ‘nWrap.
