The Reconstruction Amendments 13th,14th, 15th
1864 – before southern stated could be re-admitted to the Union, they had to accept (ratify) these amendments.
13th – Abolishes Slavery 14th –Grants citizenship to all former slaves,
referred to as “ freedmen” 15th – grants voting rights, regardless of race
( to males only)
