Throughout the candidate and onboarding processes, PeopleGuru adds enhancements for more features and better usability.
These new recruitment and onboarding-related features first became available in March of 2019. For a quick overview of what’s new, please take a look at the following sections.
Recruitment: Candidate Experience
Resume and Cover Letter Uploads
Candidates gain upload features for both résumé and cover letter as a PDF or Word® (.docx) file. Uploading a file removes the text area for that section. Repeating an upload replaces the uploaded file.

Resume Submission Step with Login Creation
On the last step of submitting resume information: - User verification can now be completed via email or cell phone.
- The Next button no longer displays because there’s a separate submission button
that displays after verification.

Candidate Review: More Information
Recruiters gain additional information for candidate reviews along with the flexibility to create as many meetings for screenings as needed.

On the Candidate review tab, a new Requisitions column has been added to show all
Requisitions that a candidate has applied for.
An internal candidate will have the word “Internal” in front of the Applicant Status on the
Candidate Review screen. A candidate is considered “Internal” if the candidate applied
through employee self-service instead of candidate self-service.
Applicant Screenings: More Meetings per Screening
For a screening that supports meeting scheduling, a user can now schedule more than
one meeting.
Notify: Be Notified About a Candidate Removing an Application

To notify people if an applicant removes his or her application to a requisition, a new
event for System Notifications has been created: “CandidateApplicationRemoved”. Set
this up as needed on one or more System Notifications for this event.
Onboarding: Onboarder Experience
Onboarding Goes Mobile
PeopleGuru onboarding goes mobile in the PeopleGuru mobile app.
E-Documents for mobile are restyled with the ability to see the whole document page
and better field visibility.

eDocuments
Design of eDocuments
A new setup option in the screen designer can populate the current date by using a specific default value and a “Read Only” setting. - A date default value of {mm}/{dd}/{yyyy} will populate the current date.
- Using a “Read Only” setting will set the pre-populated value as something that cannot be modified but can be viewed.

Display of eDocuments
How eDocuments display has been restyled with several improvements for better usability and readability:
- The Download button is more prominent and is found under the document’s title.
- Fillable fields are highlighted in mint green and outlined with an orange dotted line.
- Text in eDocument fields is larger for better readability.
Two standard eDocuments also have minor changes:
- For the standard I-9 eDocument, this makes Today’s Date populate automatically and adjusts the alignment of fields.
- For the standard Federal W-4, the name of the state is spelled out and the state code is in parenthesis.

Onboarding: Reviewer Experience
Transactions for the Onboarding Invitation
Configuration options for the onboarding invitation open up more possibilities to assign this to managers and others.
For onboarding, the enhancement allows an approver to edit the onboarding transaction
before approving it – if the transaction approval is in a workflow step that was setup with
"Reviewer Can Edit" selected.
The setup process is the same as for the Personnel Action Forms (PAF's).
- You can also make fields required/not-required and visible/not-visible for the all
steps in the workflow.
- For the initial submission, the Company, First Name, Last Name, Email, and Employee
Number should always be visible and required.
- For the last step, the tax Worksite needs to be visible and required.

Reviewing Onboarding and an I-9
Onboarding reviewers can have more options for approval and changes.
After recruitment in onboarding, a reviewer for the onboarding transaction can complete and sign-off on the reviewer portion of an eDocument (I-9 onboarding). Here’s how.
- You can access any onboarding transactions that are assigned to you from the Daily Feed’s Transaction Approvals section, or from the usual Transaction Approvals screen.
- Click on a transaction’s View button to see the details before deciding whether to approve or deny it.
- Continue through the review steps as usual by clicking on Next.
- On the Employment Eligibility step, click on the pencil icon for the I-9 document.

- After a reviewer signs off on an I-9, the reviewer signatures will show on a separate
page because there may be more than one reviewer.
