REHOBOTH CHRISTIAN COLLEGE
VISION
REHOBOTH CHRISTIAN COLLEGE
Thanks to the foresight, determination,
and sacrifice of our founding families, Rehoboth Christian College is today a respected and significant part of our Christian community, providing a distinctive style of Christian education for our families.
In 2011, a major development
campaign was initiated to maintain this
legacy by expanding and upgrading the
facilities of our campuses.
The overwhelming response to this campaign, chaired by Mr Pieter
Bolt and Mr John Bylsma, is evidence of this enduring legacy
and demonstrates our community’s ongoing commitment to
our founders’ original vision to continue a tradition of distinctly
Christian education.
The development campaign committee’s directive was that, in
order to remain viable, facilities which were no longer seen as
adequately catering to the needs of our children needed to be
improved. The College Leadership Team and staff, in consultation
with architects Ian Anderson and Adrian Price, have developed a
master plan on behalf of the Board that fulfils this directive and
provides a clear vision for the future of Rehoboth Christian College.
Over the course of the campaign we have been reminded how
none of this is accomplished by our strength. It is only through
the Lord’s provision and blessing when we are faithful to Him and
are prepared to do what He calls us to that such opportunities for
growth and development become available.
Many have made considerable personal and financial sacrifices
for the College, and though the educational landscape may have
changed in many ways since Rehoboth first opened its doors
almost fifty years ago, the aims of our community remain the same
today as they did for our founders – to give God alone the glory in
all things and to raise our children in His ways.
The Board and College Leadership wish to express their sincere
gratitude to the many families and individuals who have, and
continue to, support the College. One of the aims of this booklet
is to “give something back to you” by showcasing the various
concepts for the new and upgraded facilities that you have helped
to develop.
REHOBOTH CHRISTIAN COLLEGE
DEVELOPMENT
REHOBOTH CHRISTIAN COLLEGE
The two campuses at Wilson and Kenwick have existed in the same facilities for many years with little new development occurring, despite considerable growth in student numbers.
If Rehoboth is to continue to grow
and meet the challenges of the future
and remain a beacon of Christian
education in Western Australia, it
must be refurbished, modernised, and
expanded.

PROPOSED WILSON CAMPUS
REHOBOTH CHRISTIAN COLLEGE
In 1966, our Wilson campus officially opened with 2 teachers and
23 students. Free labour then saw the addition of the library as
well as arts and crafts facilities. The future master plan for Wilson
involves a 3-stage development plan to be implemented over a 25
year period, beginning with Early Learning facilities and additional
classroom blocks that will allow Wilson to grow under a double
streaming arrangement.
In 2014, the College will acquire additional land surrounding
the Wilson campus and building will commence on a proposed
Early Learning Centre and six additional classrooms. The future
horseshoe shape of the new buildings ensures the safety and
security of our children while providing plenty of grassed areas
for play and outdoor activities. The key features of the proposed
Wilson campus include:
• Purpose-built Early Learning Centre (due 2014)
• Sufficient classrooms for a double-stream K-6 primary
• Multipurpose Hall
• Secure outdoor activity areas
• Dedicated staff parking facilities
• Street parking along Armstrong Road and Dalton Place
for easy student drop-off and pick-up
• Easily accessible Administration Centre.

REHOBOTH CHRISTIAN COLLEGE
PROPOSED WILSON CAMPUS
Administration Centre
Part of our proposal for Wilson involves moving the administrative offices and staff rooms to the front of the site, creating a single Administration Centre that is more readily visible to parents and visitors. Improved
visibility of campus grounds and student activities also means staff are able to keep a closer eye on students. In this view, Armstrong Road is to the right, with Dalton Place behind. Undercover walkways such as is
seen here will also provide covered access to all parts of the campus.
REHOBOTH CHRISTIAN COLLEGE
Administration Centre and Multipurpose Hall
Looking at the Administration Centre from Armstrong Road, parents and visitors will note the impressive facades of the Multipurpose Hall and double storey classroom blocks behind, as well as the expansive
outdoor areas. To the left of the Hall is the new double storey classroom block, while to the right is the new classroom block adjacent to the proposed Early Learning Centre. Parking spaces with direct access to
the Administration Centre and Early Learning Centre can be seen to the right.
REHOBOTH CHRISTIAN COLLEGE
Multipurpose Hall and New Double Story Block
This view takes in the front elevation of the Multipurpose Hall and double storey block (left) from the undercover walkway. To the right of the Hall, a new double storey block can be seen which will accommodate
the Junior Primary and an overpass via the Hall will connect both blocks.

In 1979, Kenwick opened at its present site with a full Year 8-12
high school. In 2005, the primary campus opened with classes for
Kindy to Year 4, and now incorporates a complete K-7 program.
With the completion of the Government-funded P21 program in
2011, Year 4-7 classes at Kenwick were able to relocate into six
new classrooms, and the Board is currently purchasing land along
Brixton Street adjacent to these buildings from the City of Gosnells.
Early Learning at Kenwick, along with Years 1-3, will eventually be
accommodated on this land enabling the consolidation of the
Kenwick Primary campus. The timeframe for building development
at Kenwick depends largely on a balance between the quality of
existing facilities to meet our educational needs and the demands
of future growth.
The addition of the Multipurpose Hall at Kenwick has proven to be
an enormous blessing, helping to promote sports and performing
arts as well as serving to bring Primary and Secondary students
together by facilitating whole-school events such as assemblies,
information evenings, and so on. The upgrades proposed for the
remaining Secondary buildings will be dependent on funding and
student growth, and these in turn will allow us to improve and
expand course options for Secondary students. Key features of the
proposed Kenwick campus include:
• Administration Centre combining campus administration
and the Business Office
• Purpose-built Early Learning Centre
• Capacity for dual-stream classrooms in Primary
• Performing Arts Centre
• Greater integration with adjacent Brixton Street Wetlands
• Additional parking facilities
• Refurbished Science labs in Secondary.
REHOBOTH CHRISTIAN COLLEGE
Performing Arts Centre
The view is from the corner of Kenwick Road and Brixton Street, looking towards the proposed Performing Arts Centre (currently the site of the Business Office). In the distance, the Secondary library and
Administration Centre can be seen, with the Kenwick Multipurpose Hall in the background. As well as offering dedicated performance and rehearsal space, the Performing Arts Centre brings a distinctive
architectural feature to the Kenwick campus.
REHOBOTH CHRISTIAN COLLEGE
Kenwick Early Learning Centre
The far end of the Kenwick campus will accommodate our Primary School, including these purpose-built Early Learning facilities. Behind, the Junior Primary block can be seen. Dedicated car parking and outdoor
areas for early learning provide a safe, secure environment for our youngest learners.
REHOBOTH CHRISTIAN COLLEGE
Junior Primary Block
Another major feature of our Kenwick campus will be the addition of a dedicated Junior Primary block, enabling us to offer dual-streamed programs across our entire Primary School program. This view of the
Junior Primary block is taken from Brixton Street.

REHOBOTH CHRISTIAN COLLEGE
REFLECTION AND FUTURE
Rehoboth Christian College offers a comprehensive K-12 education built on Biblical principles. Our model of education complies with the Australian Curriculum Standards and aims to develop our students’ beliefs, values, attitudes, and practices in a way that is consistent with God’s teachings.
Students, as well as all members of our community, are encouraged
to work together to bring glory to God in all they think, do, and say.
We think of this as a unique three-way partnership between the
College, home, and Church that prepares students to be people of
outstanding character, and citizens who are equipped to articulate
the message of Jesus in their lives.
Rehoboth remains true to our founders’ original vision to continue
this tradition of outstanding Christian schooling, and as Christians,
parents, grandparents, and past students we all recognise
the importance and impact of Christian education in shaping
our character and worldview. We also owe a great deal to our
pioneering forefathers; Rehoboth is their legacy to us and it is our
vital obligation to continue to develop the College.
Funding for the College’s future developments is an ongoing
concern, and the development campaign is still in progress. Though
we have come a very long way, there are still needs to be met if
this vision for the College is to be achieved. We would ask that you
please remember the College and its Board and Leadership in your
prayers, and to commit these plans to the Lord as we move into
each phase of development. If you feel you wish to make a financial
contribution, this will be most welcome and can be done at the
Business Office.
With two growing campuses located in the Perth metropolitan
area, as well as other exciting developments on the horizon from
curriculum development to technology in the classroom, there is
no better time than now to consider Rehoboth Christian College for
a complete K-12 education.
